The market greets us with a slight rise, but I still urge you to stop doomscrolling and read some interesting facts about parrots:
1. Not all parrots talk. The ability to imitate sounds depends on the species. The best at this are the grey parrot, amazons, and cockatoos.
2. They live a very long time. Some large species, such as macaws or cockatoos, can live in captivity for 50-80 years.
3. Parrots are monogamous. They form a pair for life and become very attached to their partner.
4. They have zygodactyl feet. Two toes point forward and two backward, which allows them to climb excellently and hold food.
5. The Kakapo is the only flightless parrot. This rare species inhabits New Zealand and leads a nocturnal lifestyle.
6. Their beak is incredibly strong. The large hyacinth macaw can easily crack a coconut.
7. Parrots eat clay. In the Amazon jungle, they lick clay from the walls of rivers to neutralize toxins in unripe fruits.
8. They are as smart as small children. Some species are capable of solving logical problems, counting, and understanding the concepts of "different" and "the same".
9. There are about 400 species of parrots in the world. These include the large macaws and the tiny budgerigars measuring up to 18 cm in length.
10. They come from warm countries. Parrots inhabit the tropical and subtropical regions of South America, Australia, Africa, and Asia.
11. They do not know how to trade ETH on the Gate exchange.
