According to industry sources, major memory suppliers Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron have sold out their 2027 DRAM and HBM capacity, with supply expected to remain tight through 2028. The shortage is driven by AI infrastructure buildout, as hyperscalers and AI firms have signed long-term supply contracts to secure future capacity. Samsung's Executive Chairman notes that meaningful supply improvements are unlikely before 2028, while SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung warned that 2027 may become the industry's tightest supply year, with demand potentially exceeding supply capacity well into 2030.
