According to ZDNet Korea, Samsung Electronics' foundry 4nm production is at full capacity through 2027, driven by surging HBM4 orders and Nvidia's Grok3 inference chip demand. To address capacity constraints, Samsung is recommending its validated 5nm process as an alternative, previously targeted at automotive chips but now expanding into server and high-performance AI and NPU chip segments.
5nm customer inquiries have grown significantly in recent months, primarily from Chinese and Indian fabless companies shifting away from Taiwan Semiconductor due to advanced process supply tightness and geopolitical factors. Samsung continues fielding customer consultations for 2nm process availability.
