Eliza Founder Declares AI Token 'Dead,' Shuts Down Foundation After Lawsuit Settlement on Tuesday

ELIZAOS-3.67%
According to Shaw Walters in an X post on Tuesday, the Eliza token is now declared 'dead' and the Eliza Foundation is shutting down. Walters said the project's remaining treasury was exhausted to settle a class-action lawsuit brought by Burwick Law, which alleged false advertising and deceptive business practices related to how ai16z (later rebranded ElizaOS) was marketed. Despite abandoning the token, development of the open-source ElizaOS AI agent framework will continue independently.
