The CEO of a global cable giant admits that the U.S. finds it difficult to shake off its dependence on metal imports.

Jin10 reported on October 22 that Massimo Battaini, CEO of global cable giant Prysmian Group, stated in an interview that the United States will inevitably need to import metals such as copper and aluminum. The Italian cable manufacturer's head pointed out that domestic aluminum production in the U.S. can only meet 35% of local demand, and achieving self-sufficiency in the aluminum industry may take 20 years and hundreds of millions of dollars in investment.
