BlockBeats news, on October 18, according to Decrypt, stablecoin giant Tether announced this week a donation of $250,000 to the Bitcoin developer support organization OpenSats, but this move was immediately questioned publicly by Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter and CEO of Block (formerly Square). After Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino announced the donation on X, Dorsey briefly responded, “Why only $250,000?” Tether's profits reached $13 billion last year and is seeking funding at a valuation of $500 billion. In contrast, Dorsey revealed that he has donated over $21 million to OpenSats through the Start Small fund and has long supported Decentralization and Open Source Bitcoin development.
