BTC worth $63,700—are you waiting for a crash or for a breakout?
First, the surface: end-of-month profit-taking, choppy and slightly weak.
Today it’s down 1.3%, pulling back from above 65,000 to 63,700. US stocks are strong, but BTC is going in the opposite direction—options expiry pressure + intermittent ETF outflows + Middle East geopolitical disturbances. Three big mountains are pressing down on it.
But oddly—price hasn’t collapsed.
After rebounding from the 57,800 low in July to today, BTC has gained 10% over a full month. A 1.3% end-of-month pullback? That’s just normal “catching its breath.”
First thing: the Fed is split, but the market response is冷淡.
July 29 FOMC decision: interest rate kept unchanged at 3.50%-3.75%. That matches expectations.
What really “exploded” is—3 committee members voted against, asking for a rate hike.
This is the most divided vote in years. The hawkish voices pushed up September hike expectations—BTC should, in theory, crash. But look at the chart: after the decision it briefly dipped, then rebounded.
Second thing: whales are accumulating like crazy, while retail is panic-selling.
Whale/shark addresses in the 10-10000 BTC range have collectively increased holdings by about 19,700 BTC over the past 8 days.
Worth over $50k.
That’s a classic pattern of “whales accumulating while retail retreats.”
You’re worried September rate hikes could drop BTC to 50k—but the whales have already bought $1 billion worth at 63,000.
Third thing: fundamentals haven’t changed—what’s changed is your mindset.
ETFs are still the core sentiment indicator. AUM is about $77.5-$78.5 billion, holding 1.21 million BTC. In mid-to-late July there were moments of over $200 million in single-day outflows, but recently it has turned into small inflows or flat.
Long-term holders haven’t moved, miners aren’t breaking down, and hash rate remains high.
Down, you’re afraid it’ll fall more. Up, you’re afraid of missing out. As long as this mindset doesn’t change, you’ll always be the one getting cut.
You decide the long-vs-short battle—see it for yourself.
Bull case:
Whales bought 19,700 BTC in 8 days, worth over $1 billion
BTC was still up 10% overall in July—one of the best single-month performances in the past year
The Bollinger Bands are squeezed to the extreme—breakout is imminent; historically this pattern is 70% bullish
63,000-63,500 has been defended multiple times—support is solid
Bear case:
3 Fed members opposed, raising the odds of a September hike
ETF flows are unstable; institutions haven’t fully returned
63,700 is in the lower half of the range—if 63,000 breaks, it could head to 62,000 and even 60k
Geopolitics + oil price disturbances: risk appetite tightens at any moment
Key levels
Resistance: 64,500-65,000 → 65,500-66,600 (July high) → 68,000-69,000 → 71,000-73,000 (200-day line)
Support: 63,000-63,500 → 62,500 → 60k-61,000 (bounce start + Fibonacci iron bottom)
More-leaning plan:
When 63,000-63,500 shows a sell-off stopping signal (long lower wicks, volume-increasing bullish candle, reclaiming moving averages on the 4-hour chart), try a small long position. First target 64,800-65,500, second 66,500-68,000. Stop-loss: 62,500.
Bear-leaning plan:
Breaks 63,000 and gets confirmed effectively (4-hour/daily close)—go short. First target 62,000-61,500, second 60,000. Stop-loss: 64,000.
Neutral / wait-and-see:
Wait for 63,000 to hold or a breakout above 66,500 before acting. Until direction is clear, messing around just pays fees.
Long-term DCA crowd:
DCA in batches in the $60,000-$65,000 range. At the current valuation, relative to historical cycles, it’s still attractive.
BTC right now is basically a replay of the first half of 2023—
Whales are buying, retail is cursing, and KOLs are shouting “it’s going to 50k.”
Then what? The ETF got approved, and BTC ran from 30k to 70k.
Those who sold at a loss around 60,000 later chased at 80k.
This market is always like this—smart money enters in panic, and the “leeks” cut losses in panic.
