The Fed has even split itself in two—so how dare you go all-in?

Imagine a patient running a high fever—inflation has stayed above 2% for more than five years.

But at the same time, the patient’s heart rate is slowing down—job conditions are cooling, the unemployment rate is 4.2%, and the labor force participation rate has fallen to the lowest point since the pandemic.

Fever reducers make the heartbeat even slower. A heart tonic makes the body temperature go higher.

That’s the Fed in August 2026.

On July 29, the Fed held rates unchanged for the fifth straight time, at 3.50%-3.75%.

But the real news isn’t that they didn’t change.

It’s the vote: 9 to 3.

Three people voted against it—they wanted to raise rates.

This is the first time since 2016 that three commissioners voted against at the same time.

Fed Chair Waş admits himself that the meeting included discussions “like a real family argument.”

So what are these two sides fighting about?

Hawks (Hammack, Logan, Kashkari):

Inflation has been above 2% for more than five years running.

Hammack puts it plainly: “The longer high inflation persists, the harder it is to bring it back to target levels—and the higher the costs.”

Kashkari warns: instead of standing pat and being forced to hike aggressively later, it’s better to “tighten progressively” now.

Logan is even harsher—“With no policy constraint, inflation is likely to keep running above target.”

Their logic: if they don’t tighten now, the future price will be much bigger.

Doves (Waller):

The jobs market could be deteriorating faster. Corporate layoffs plans are set to increase.

Rate hikes could directly push the economy off a cliff.

Their logic: raising rates now is like giving the patient a heart tonic—but the patient’s heart rate is already too slow.

Then look at Waş—what is this newly appointed chair doing?

He says three things: inflation is still too high; the goal is to bring inflation back to 2%; and he has confidence in achieving that goal.

But he refuses to tell you what he will do.

Morgan Stanley calls it “clear targets, unclear paths.”

In plain English: “I know where we’re going, but I won’t tell you which road to take.”

The yield on the 30-year US Treasury note has jumped to its highest level since 2007—5.23%.

The market is voting with its feet: “If you won’t say, we’ll price it ourselves.”

CME data shows the market assigns a 67.2% probability to a 25 basis-point rate hike in September.

But in the committee, only one person openly supports cutting rates.

The market is betting on hikes, while inside the Fed they’re arguing about hike versus cut.

So tell me how this market gets priced?

BTC has fallen nearly 50% this year from its all-time high of $126,000. It’s down about 28% year-to-date.

It’s now hovering around $63,000.

Is it an “anti-inflation tool,” or a “risk asset”?

High inflation → rate-hike expectations → risk assets fall → BTC falls too.

High inflation → fiat currency loses value → BTC is digital gold → BTC should rise.

Same inflation data—two completely opposite conclusions.

That’s the “clear target, unclear path” Waş left the market with—not a direction, but confusion.

STS Digital is right: the market is entering a “new volatility regime”—flip-flopping among expectations of rate cuts, pauses, and rate hikes.

The Jackson Hole symposium is coming in August.

Before the September meeting, two more CPI prints are due.

Even the Fed itself doesn’t know what it will do in September.

From “Buy, Buy, Buy” to “Sell, Sell, Sell”: Strategy’s script is being rewritten

On August 3, Strategy submitted a filing to the SEC—

From July 27 to August 2, it sold 1,638 BTC and cashed out $104.7 million.

Average price: $63,957.

Their cost basis was $75,419 per BTC.

A loss of $11,462 per coin.

That former “buy-only” Bitcoin whale is now selling at a loss.

Don’t rush to blame yet. Look at these numbers first:

In the first seven months of this year, Strategy bought 174,895 BTC and sold 3,620 BTC.

The sell volume is less than a fraction of the buy volume.

842k BTC—4% of the global total—at an average cost of $75,419.

But things aren’t that simple.

On June 29, Strategy formally launched its “Digital Credit Capital Framework.”

From then on, the phrase “never sell” was thrown into the trash.

CEO Phong Le put it plainly: the company’s main goal is to keep STRC preferred stock stable in the $99 to $100 range.

What is STRC? It’s preferred stock issued by Strategy, with an annualized dividend of 12% and a par value of $100.

But now it’s worth only $89.46.

More than 10% below par.

Why sell BTC? The answer is all here:

A 12% dividend—doesn’t pay, can’t.

When STRC falls below par value, it breaks the “issue preferred stock → buy BTC” virtuous cycle.

So this time, half of the BTC sale proceeds go to dividends ($52.40 million), and the other half goes to repurchase STRC ($52.30 million).

Meanwhile, the company also sold more than 3 million shares of MSTR common stock, raising $290 million—$250 million into the USD reserves, and $28.90 million to continue repurchasing STRC.

As of August 2, its USD reserves had reached $4 billion.

$4 billion in cash, 842,000 BTC.

Before, it was “issue debt to buy BTC”; now it’s “sell BTC to stabilize.”

The tougher part comes next:

The company authorized the sale of up to $5 billion worth of Bitcoin.

That’s a fourfold increase from the $1.25 billion plan earlier in July.

The uses are split into three parts: $1.25 billion to replenish reserves, $1.76 billion to pay dividends and interest, and $2 billion to repurchase stock.

Michael Saylor himself said that $5 billion is the ceiling—“but the total could ultimately be higher.”

What does $5 billion mean?

At today’s BTC price, it’s roughly 78,000 BTC.

That’s less than 10% of their total holdings.

But the direction has changed.

Previously it was doing addition; now it’s doing subtraction.

The community is already in an uproar.

Some say Saylor betrayed his belief. Others say this is forced financial self-rescue.

Saylor responded himself: “I have never sold any personal Bitcoin. Not a single smart coin has been sold.”

But netizens dug up old tweets from the past six years where he repeatedly claimed “never sell.”

Do the rules only bind retail investors—not himself?

This isn’t a collapse of belief; it’s a strategic shift.

Strategy is no longer a “buy-and-never-sell” Bitcoin ETF.

It has become an active capital management company.

Bitcoin has changed from a “belief asset” to a “liquidity tool.”

What does this mean for the market?

Short term: negative sentiment. The line “the biggest bull is starting to sell” alone is enough to be scary.

Mid to long term: it actually shows that large institutions need liquidity management. Strategy isn’t bearish on BTC—it’s being forced to sell by the 12% dividend.

As long as STRC doesn’t return to $100 for a single day, they won’t resume large-scale buying for a single day.

It’s currently 10% away.

And that 10% is the signal the entire market is waiting for.

While you’re still obsessing over whether Bitcoin can reach 100k.

The holders of 842,000 BTC are already calculating how much to sell to cover dividends.

While you’re still chanting “HODL.”

The “never sell” founder is being forced to sell BTC by his own preferred-stock structure.

Once you understand this shift, it matters a thousand times more than how many BTC they sold this time.

Strategy changes from “only buy, never sell” to “actively sell BTC.” You think that is:

A. Forced financial self-rescue—a dangerous signal B. Mature capital management—a long-term positive C. None of my business—I’m not buying MSTR#Gate储备金率117%持续领先 #Gate资产规模位列全球Top6 #美伊举行谈判油价显著下跌 $BTC $ETH $MSTR

Trillion-dollar dead money, a brand-new key—does Babylon TBV really work?
You definitely have a friend like this around you—holding on to [BTC](https://www.binance.com/zh-CN/trade/BTC_USDT?contentId=351741900904978), won’t sell in a bear market and won’t sell in a bull market either. When you ask why they don’t take it and use it, they just say: “Put it anywhere—it’s not as safe as putting it in my own wallet.”
This isn’t wrong. Over the past five years, there have been countless attempts to bring BTC into DeFi, but after circling around, it all comes down to one old problem: either you trust an institution, or you trust a bridge, or you trust a packaged IOU. For real holders, these three options are essentially the same thing—hand over the coins.
So even though [比特币](https://www.binance.com/zh-CN/trade/BTC_USDT?contentId=351741900904978) has a market value of a trillion, the proportion that goes into DeFi is less than 1%. It’s not that there’s no demand—it’s that there’s no channel.
Babylon Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV) tries a different route.
The core logic of TBV isn’t complicated: [BTC](https://www.binance.com/zh-CN/trade/BTC_USDT?contentId=351741900904978) stays on the Bitcoin mainnet and, through pre-signed transactions plus cryptographic proofs (the BABE protocol, developed in collaboration with the Berkeley Cryptography group), manages the lock and liquidation logic.
You open a vault with BTC, borrow [USDC](https://www.binance.com/zh-CN/trade/USDC_USDT?contentId=351741900904978)) on [以太坊](https://www.binance.com/zh-CN/trade/ETH_USDT?contentId=351741900904978). Paying back goes through the normal redemption process; if it gets liquidated, it follows the pre-signed execution path. All the way, it doesn’t require a multi-sig committee, doesn’t require cross-chain bridge custody, and doesn’t require wrapped assets.

The market right now has just two words: washout.
But this washout is different. The main force has a conscience—not the kind of slow bleed trickle that drags you down one cut at a time. Instead, it keeps whipping the price around, giving you opportunities to do T.
Do you think they’re just spacing out? They’re secretly building a base.

An ancient BTC miner moved 500 BTC ($31.27 million) that hadn’t moved in 13 years about half an hour ago. These 500 BTC have not moved since they were consolidated from a mining address in 2013; at that time, the BTC price was $1,020, and these BTC were worth $510k. This price was the peak around those years, until the price again rose above $1,000 in 2017—meaning they were stuck for three to four years.

The market reminded how quickly narratives can change.
One headline about US-Iran negotiations
> Oil dropped almost 7%
> Energy got sold

I was asking whether I’d actually get the price I wanted if volatility exploded.
That’s something I think retail traders underestimate.
When everyone rushes in at the same time, the quote you see isn’t always the one you get. Thin order books can quietly increase your execution cost through slippage.
That’s why liquidity has become part of my checklist before every earnings or macro trade.

Bitcoin ended July with a 7.32% gain, continuing to trade above the Monthly MA50 at $60,763, a level that has historically supported the broader trend.
The current market structure still suggests a consolidation phase, with several months of range-bound price action possible before a stronger directional move develops.
Key Levels

• Support: $57,748

• Resistance: $67,252, then $74,000
What Could Support the Market

• A stronger-than-expected ISM reading could improve market sentiment.

• Reduced geopolitical tensions may ease pressure on risk assets.
What Could Weigh on Price

• The broader correction may extend into the coming months.

• Weakness in US equities could spill over into crypto.

• Expectations of tighter monetary policy remain a headwind.
Bottom Line
As long as Bitcoin continues to defend the Monthly MA50 and Weekly MA200, the bigger picture remains constructive.
Short-term volatility is expected, but disciplined risk management and patience remain the most important strategies.

Crude oil at $80: “beheading cleaver”—do you bottom-fish or chase shorts?

First, look at the surface: bad news, bulls flee.

Over the past 24 hours it’s down 6%, dumping from 84.67 straight to 78.5-81.3, with an intraday low of 78.5. In the month it’s still up 15%, and in the year it’s up 38%—but this big bearish candle has blown up how many people’s long positions?

You think it’s just a “normal pullback”?

First: OPEC+ will increase production, but the market overreacted.

Saudi Arabia and Russia agreed to raise output by 188k barrels/day in September—sounds like a lot, right?

But calculate it carefully—188k barrels/day is less than 0.2% of global demand. And due to prior conflicts, actual production still hadn’t caught up to quotas in the first place. So “increased production” is simply making up the amount that was supposed to be there anyway.

Second: fundamentals are calling “don’t panic”—did you hear it?

The latest EIA weekly report shows U.S. commercial crude inventories fell by 7.2 million barrels to 404.5 million barrels, about 6% below the five-year average. Refinery utilization is 97%, and summer demand support remains.

Inventories are still 6% below the five-year average—supply is truly tight.

Refineries are running at near full capacity—demand is truly strong.

Demand from major importing countries like China is steady—no signs of a breakdown.

Supply increases slightly, but inventories are extremely low and demand is strong. This does not support crude prices staying below $80 long-term.

Third: the technicals have reached a level that must be taken seriously.

On a daily timeframe, price quickly dropped from the 86-93 high area, broke below the short-term rising trendline, forming a potential head-and-shoulders top pattern—left shoulder 80, head 86, right shoulder 84, with the neckline near 79.

Right now it’s testing the 78-80 area.

Hold 78: a healthy “geopolitical premium unwind” adjustment. Rebound targets 81-83, even 85.

Break below 77: head-and-shoulders top confirmed; the target points directly to 70-72.

Bulls vs bears—you decide.

Bulls are building up:

U.S. inventories are 6% below the five-year average—supply is tight.

Refinery utilization is 97%—summer demand peak.

On the monthly timeframe, price is still in an uptrend channel—trend not broken.

78-80 is an important support zone—dip-buyers are waiting.

Bears are pressing:

OPEC+ production increase signals land—supply worries ease.

Iran talks may restart—geopolitical premium fades.

Head-and-shoulders top forming—breakout risk.

Speculative funds net long unwind—selling pressure continues.

Key levels

Upper resistance: 81-83 → 85-85.5 (prior support turns resistance) → 89-90

Lower support: 78-77.5 (today’s low + neckline) → 74-75 → 70-72

Shorting (short-term bias):

On a rebound to 81-83, enter a small short position; stop loss above 85; target 78-75. If it breaks below 78, add and look for 70-72.

Going long (support trade):

Near 78-77.5, scale in with light longs; stop loss below 76; target 81-83. If it stands above 83, flip bullish and look for 85-90. If you think in spot terms, below $80 is the zone to build positions in batches.

Breakout plan:

Daily close above 85 with increased volume → chase longs targeting 90+

Daily close below 77 → chase shorts targeting 70-72

By the time you see the news, the move is already halfway done.

OPEC+ production increase is “explicit.” Iran talks are also “explicit.” When the “explicit” news hits the market, it’s always a shakeout, not distribution.

Recently, I genuinely feel that this stock-market “hand” in the US market is getting harder and harder to read. One moment, AI stocks are being talked up for long-term growth; the next, they start to pull back because capital expenditures and profit expectations come under pressure. The storage sector is the same—after falling earlier like a low-quality token, it suddenly reverses course due to the industry cycle and demand expectations, and then it bounces back.

220 drops to 107—would you dare to buy the dip on SpaceX stock?

First, the surface: the halo of a new IPO has already shattered into pieces.

On June 12, a 135 USD IPO—the largest in history—drew crowds and people packed the streets to grab shares. After surging to 225 USD, it has kept sliding to around 109 USD now—down about half and then some. In the past 24 hours alone, it’s down another 2–3%. Market cap has shrunk from over 2 hundred billion at the peak to 1.4 hundred billion.

You might be thinking: “It’s down 50%—isn’t this a great chance to buy the dip?”

First thing: tomorrow’s earnings report may be ugly.

On August 4 after the close, SPCX will hand over its first quarterly report since listing. Market expectations are revenue of about 6.88 billion USD, but earnings per share of -0.23 USD.

What does -0.23 USD mean? A company with a market cap of 1.4 hundred billion is still losing money.

Starship burns cash, AI integration costs, xAI losses—these black holes swallow profits. Starlink is growing, but whether it can plug the holes in other businesses will be clear tomorrow.

Second thing: the hundred million share unlock the day after tomorrow—this is the real guillotine.

On August 6, the first batch of IPO lockups expires—about 20% of restricted shares can be sold.

At the IPO, internal employees and early investors were locked up and couldn’t sell.

Two days from now, they can sell.

For these people, the cost is extremely low—just a few dollars or even less.

Would you hold a chip costing $2 and refuse to move at 107 USD? Don’t fool yourself.

And this isn’t the most frightening part—lockup unlocks are only the first wave. After that, steady supply will keep flooding into the market.

Third thing: the “bottom” you think you’re seeing might just be halfway up the mountain.

On the technical side, SPCX has fallen from 225 to 107—down 50%+—and the RSI is indeed oversold. But oversold doesn’t mean the bottom is in—especially when both fundamentals and the supply situation are putting pressure.

On the daily chart, every rebound gets smashed down. This is called a “weak rebound while still grinding lower.”

The bulls are daydreaming:

Down 50%—surely it’ll rebound.

A big U.S. government contract + Google/AI collaboration provide support for fundamentals.

Oversold—so a technical rebound could happen anytime.

The bears are sharpening knives:

Tomorrow’s earnings are likely a loss, and guidance may miss expectations.

That hundred million unlock the day after tomorrow—supply flood will hit the market.

The float is tiny; a few big orders can easily knock the stock down by 10%.

The macro environment is unfriendly—high-multiple growth stocks get punished.

Key levels

Resistance overhead: 113–120 → 135 (IPO price)

Support below: 105–107 → 100–103 → 90

Aggressive:

Buy a small position lightly at 105–108, cut loss at 103, target 113–120. But if earnings blow up, the next day could gap down and break below 100 directly.

Conservative:

Wait for earnings to land, wait for the unlock selloff to finish, and then decide once the direction is clearer. SPCX’s volatility is extremely high—10–20% swings in a single day around earnings are normal.

If you want to short:

If earnings miss expectations, or after earnings the rebound stalls at 115–120, try a small short position; target 105–107, even below 100. Stop loss above 122.

By tomorrow night, you’ll see two outcomes:

Outcome one: Earnings beat expectations, guidance is positive, the stock rebounds violently by 20%. Then on the day after tomorrow, the unlock gets smashed again—those who chased get harvested repeatedly.

Outcome two: Earnings miss expectations, combined with the unlock supply flood, it drops straight below 100, heading to 90—those trying to buy the dip get buried.

You think it’s a bottom now, but it’s probably only halfway up the mountain. #Gate独家美股0费率 #USD1持币生息最高8% #美伊举行谈判油价显著下跌 $BTC $SPCX $ETH
