$234 million Short-Seller Coalition: A Precisely Timed “Targeted Detonation”

On August 17, TradingBeats detected two leading BTC short sellers on Hyperliquid simultaneously rolling over and adding to their positions, collectively adding 585.3 BTC worth approximately $36.83 million, at an average execution price of $62,935.

As of press time, the two held a combined short position of 2,675 BTC, worth approximately $169 million, with total unrealized profits of approximately $2.62 million.

First, let’s look at how “in sync” these two addresses are—

Whale beginning with 0x8c96: 22x cross-margin short of 1,600 BTC, position value approximately $101 million, entry price $64,051, liquidation price $65,128.

Whale beginning with 0x431f: 22x cross-margin short of 1,075 BTC, position value approximately $67.79 million, entry price $64,030, liquidation price $65,103.

The first round of additions this morning was only about 3 seconds apart.

The same 22x leverage.

The liquidation prices were both locked in around $65,100, with a difference of only $25.

This should be the same trading team, or two strategies being executed simultaneously with complete replication.

The two traders set a unified “reduce-only” stop-market order for 37.5% of their positions—1,003.1 BTC in total, worth approximately $64.17 million—with a trigger price of $63,971.

This price is only about 0.45% above the current BTC spot price.

Both positions are approximately 3.3% away from their respective liquidation prices, while their take-profit prices are set at $58,123 and $58,423, respectively.

The target decline is approximately 7–8%.

From $63,000 to $58,000—a $5,000 downside range.

These two are not fighting alone.

On Hyperliquid, the total value of the two major BTC short positions has ballooned to approximately $234 million.

The top-ranked short address, beginning with 0xff84, has cumulatively closed 1,490 BTC since opening its short on August 5, but all 30 position reductions recorded losses, with realized losses plus fees totaling approximately $9 million.

Down $9 million, and still holding.

It currently still holds a 2,000 BTC short position, worth approximately $127 million, with a cost basis of $63,582.

“Even at a loss, we keep holding”—this shows that the shorts have extremely strong conviction, or rather, that their target goes far beyond the few million dollars immediately in front of them.

And current market conditions are perfectly playing into the shorts’ script.

10x Research’s latest report pointed out that Bitcoin trading volume has fallen to a fraction of its level after the U.S. president’s inauguration and during last October’s flash-crash peak, while prices have entered their narrowest trading range in months.

BTC’s 1-hour range is only around 0.15%, with trading volume at an extremely low recent level.

In a low-liquidity environment, the moves of large funds are amplified several times over.

The Fear and Greed Index is in the low 30s, with market sentiment dominated by fear.

Retail traders are panicking, while shorts are adding to their positions.

The shorts have already laid out the chessboard—

Above: $63,971 is the stop-loss trap zone, while $65,100 is the liquidation pressure line.

Below: $58,000–$58,400 is the take-profit target zone.

In between: $62,000–$63,500 is the “meat grinder” where prices have moved sideways for five weeks.

If the bulls cannot quickly break above $63,400 on heavy volume and hold there, the short coalition will gradually push prices toward their target zone.

$62,300–$62,500 is the first support level; losing it would open up room below $61,000.

Here’s the painful truth—

You are not an institution; you do not have unlimited ammunition.

The shorts are still adding after losing $9 million, while you start cutting your losses after losing 9,000 U.

That is the difference.

Five weeks of sideways trading does not mean the market is resting—it means it is preparing a major move.

And that major move may be downward.#我的七夕交易分享 #股票交易分享挑战 #比特币变盘信号出现 $BTC $ETH $SOL @

Starting this week, BTC will rebound for one to two weeks, reaching at most the 67k–70k range, then close August with a bearish monthly candle, followed by another sharp drop that could hit a new low. The script has already been written for everyone; hopefully the market manipulators will show us some mercy.

The crypto world actually has its own Zhao Yiming.
First, they give you something exceptionally cheap, such as an ultra-high APR, low fees, free airdrops, or an ultra-low FDV, making you think, “This project is so generous.”
But what you really need to watch out for is this: the cheap thing is often merely what gets you through the door.
Once you’re in, the real costs may be hidden in slippage, funding rates, unlocks, liquidity, and even subsequent token selling pressure.
It’s like cola can be sold very cheaply, but that doesn’t mean everything in the store is cheap.
When you see a project that looks especially attractive, you should ask yourself:
Is it really giving me a bargain, or is it using a bargain to lure me in?

Friday’s PMI is the “third shoe to drop” this week: If the data weakens, BTC bulls will get their strongest catalyst yet

Bitcoin is still at $62,000-$66,000.

Five weeks ago it was at $63k, and five weeks later it is still at $63,000.

$63,000 has traded sideways for five full weeks.

Bulls and bears are both holding back their big moves, but neither dares to act first.

Why?

Because three shoes have yet to drop this week.

And the third one may determine BTC’s direction in September.

First, let’s look at the first two.

First: The Strait of Hormuz.

Iran and Oman are reaching an agreement on shipping routes, but the US is not involved in the negotiations and is taking a hard line. Actual shipping volumes remain extremely low. Oil prices are still hovering around $100. As long as the geopolitical premium remains, risk appetite cannot recover.

Second: At 2:00 a.m. Thursday, the Federal Reserve’s July meeting minutes.

The July FOMC voted 9:3 to keep interest rates unchanged, but the three dissenting votes called for a rate hike—this was the first time since 2016 that the Fed saw three consistent dissenting votes in the same decision.

What the market wants to know is not whether rates were raised, but exactly how many officials wanted to raise them.

If the minutes show more hawkish officials than expected—BTC will remain under pressure.

If they show deep internal divisions and a high threshold for rate hikes—that would be bullish.

But neither of these two shoes carries as much weight as the third.

Third: At 21:45 Friday, the preliminary August US S&P Global Manufacturing PMI and Services PMI.

Why is PMI the most important data point this week?

Because July’s two figures have already put “economic slowdown” on full display—

Nonfarm payrolls: employment fell by 23k.

Retail sales: down 0.6% month-on-month, the largest decline in more than a year. The market expected 0.1% growth, but the result came in at negative 0.6%.

The two reports have already pushed the market’s odds of a September rate hike from roughly 50-50 to a 66.9% probability of keeping rates unchanged. Goldman Sachs even said directly that a September rate hike has “become very unlikely.”

But the market is still waiting for a third confirmation signal.

If PMI also weakens, “economic slowdown” will no longer be a guess—it will be a fact.

The trading logic is actually very simple—

PMI below expectations → Economic cooling confirmed → September rate-hike probability falls to zero → Dollar continues to decline → BTC breaks out

PMI above expectations → Economy remains resilient → Rate-hike uncertainty remains → BTC trades sideways and pulls back

The final July S&P Global Manufacturing PMI was 53.9, while the Services PMI was 54.6. The market expects the preliminary August figures to edge lower.

If Friday’s data really weakens—

It will be the “strongest catalyst” BTC bulls have waited five weeks for.

Not the AI narrative, not ETF inflows—it will be the macroeconomy forcing the Fed to stay put.

And the crypto market fears rate hikes most, while being least afraid of no action.

To be frank.

Bitcoin has traded sideways at $63,000 for five weeks not because the fundamentals are poor—but because everyone is waiting.

Waiting for inflation data, waiting for retail sales data, waiting for the Fed’s guidance.

Now, waiting for PMI.

It is advisable to control position sizes ahead of Wednesday’s minutes—the minutes may bring short-term volatility, but the direction remains unclear.

The real directional signal will come after Friday’s PMI release.

Finally, a few words—

Whether the Fed hikes rates in September does not depend on what Wall Street says, but on what the data says.

July’s nonfarm payrolls and retail sales have already provided an answer.

Friday’s PMI is the third witness.#标普500首次冲破7800点 #我的七夕交易分享 #比特币变盘信号出现 $BTC $ETH $SOL

After making $7 billion on storage stocks, hedge fund titan Tepper sold out! He is returning to the Magnificent Seven:

Reduced holdings

1. Micron Technology $MU
Sold 690,000 shares, cutting the position by 41%. After the stock surged 242%, he took profits proactively. Memory chip cycles are highly volatile. Although he still holds a sizable position, he first locked in the excess gains.

2. SanDisk $SNDK
Sold the entire position. It saw an astonishing rally amid the AI storage boom, but it is a high-beta cyclical stock, so exiting in time avoids the risk of a pullback.

3. Corning $GLW
Sold the entire position. Fiber optics and glass materials are related to AI infrastructure, but its growth visibility is not as strong as that of core technology giants.

4. Pinduoduo $PDD
Sold the entire position. Competition in China’s internet sector is intense, with significant policy and consumer uncertainties.

5. JD.com $JD
Sold the entire position. As another Chinese e-commerce company, it faces considerable pressure on profitability and growth.

6. Alibaba $BABA
Reduced the position substantially by 42%. Chinese technology stocks are under broad pressure, while capital is shifting toward more certain U.S. mega-cap stocks.

Increased holdings

7. Amazon $AMZN
Added 680,000 shares, increasing the position by 16% and making it the largest holding. AWS cloud computing is growing strongly, with a huge backlog of orders. Its e-commerce and cloud businesses provide dual growth engines, supported by stable cash flow and a deep moat.

8. Meta $META
Added 238,500 shares, increasing the position by 55%. Its advertising business is showing a clear recovery, while AI investment is beginning to translate into greater efficiency and revenue growth. Its valuation is relatively reasonable.

9. Google $GOOG
Added 117,300 shares, increasing the position by approximately 7%. Its search advertising base remains solid, while its AI large language models and cloud business continue to gain momentum. It has strong long-term cash cow characteristics.

10. TSMC $TSM
Added 322,500 shares, increasing the position by 24%. It is the world’s most advanced chip foundry, and nearly all AI chips rely on it for production. Its technological barriers to entry are extremely high.

11. Uber $UBER
Added approximately 1.36 million shares, increasing the position by 22%. Its mobility and food delivery businesses remain solid, while AI applications are improving efficiency. Both its growth and profitability are improving.

12. Nvidia $NVDA
Increased the position slightly by approximately 4%. It is the undisputed leader in AI computing, with GPU demand remaining strong. Although it is not the largest position, he remains bullish on its long-term trend.

He has already had his fill of storage stocks—classic “take the profits and run.” No honor among investors!

BTC has been stuck around $60k for five full weeks, and both bulls and bears are holding their big moves

How long has it been since you looked at the charts?

Open your market app, and Bitcoin is still at $62,000-$66,000.

Five weeks ago, it was at $63,000. Five weeks later, it is still at $63,000.

The high has failed multiple tests at $65,500, while the low stubbornly holds above $62,000. Daily fluctuations are below 2%. Volatility has fallen to multi-year lows. Weekend liquidity is so tight it is suffocating.

The entire market feels like someone has pressed the pause button.

Retail investors are going crazy.

“Boring,” “dead time,” “numb from the volatility”—these are the words you have heard most over the past month.

But I want to tell you one thing:

The market is often most boring when you can least afford to be distracted.

The latest report from 10x Research points out that Bitcoin trading volume has fallen to a fraction of its levels after the U.S. presidential inauguration and during the peak of last October’s flash crash, while prices have entered their narrowest trading range in months.

Historically, similar low-volatility conditions have usually been difficult to sustain for long.

Low volatility is often followed by high volatility.

Not moving now does not mean never moving.

Will the direction be up or down?

The bulls have cards in hand.

Last week, Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs saw combined net inflows of $1.1 billion, ending the net outflow trend since 2026 began. Of that, $865 million flowed into BTC and $243 million into ETH.

Even more explosive—UBS increased its IBIT call options from 80k to 1.95 million in the second quarter, a 24-fold surge. Its direct holdings of IBIT also increased by 12%.

A Swiss bank with a 160-year history is making a major options bet on BTC rising.

The bears have cards too.

The total market capitalization of stablecoins fell from $321 billion in May to around $305 billion on August 16, a 5% decline and the third-largest pullback in history. USDT and USDC have continued to see outflows.

Purchasing power is retreating.

Strategy, once the market’s most consistent buyer, has been on the selling side for four consecutive weeks. From August 10 to 14, Bitcoin ETFs saw net outflows of approximately $329 million.

Some are accumulating, while others are fleeing.

The market has never been this divided.

Moreover, money is quietly flowing in one direction—

ETH.

Data from DWF Labs shows that Ethereum ETFs have continued to outperform Bitcoin ETFs since June. In July, ETH ETF net inflows accounted for 3.19% of fund assets, while BTC ETFs saw just 0.34%—the former was 9.4 times the latter.

Institutional interest in ETH is returning.

What does this mean? The market is asking one question:

If BTC continues moving sideways, will money flow into ETH?

Here is the painful truth:

Five weeks of sideways trading does not mean the market is resting—it means the market is holding a big move in reserve.

Both bulls and bears are stockpiling ammunition.

UBS is using options to bet on the upside. Stablecoin outflows are suppressing the upside. ETFs saw large inflows last week, followed by large outflows this week.

Who will win?

Keep an eye on two indicators:

First, can ETFs record consecutive net inflows? $1.1 billion came in last week, but BTC barely rose. If inflows continue for several weeks, that would be different.

Second, can stablecoin outflows bottom out? Without purchasing power returning, prices cannot rise.

Once these two signals resonate—it will be the moment the market breaks. #标普500首次冲破7800点 #我的七夕交易分享 #SpaceX超级股东曝光股价反弹40% $BTC $ETH $SOL

It’s time to position ourselves around the power bottleneck! $IREN CEO:
1. Today’s AI is still in the dial-up era

Entering a complex prompt still takes 15-40 seconds, making for an extremely clumsy experience. But this is only the beginning. Once response times improve in the future, humanity’s demand for AI will surge exponentially. The computing power being consumed today doesn’t even qualify as an appetizer.

2. The ultimate bottleneck for AI development is laying power lines and building facilities

Everyone is focused on algorithms and chips, but the real choke points are all in the physical world: electricity, steel, and cement. Without sufficient grid support, even the most powerful GPU is just a huge brick that can’t be used.

3. Not until after 2030 at the earliest

How difficult is it to get power? Just contacting the utility company and confirming whether the plot of land you bought can be connected to the grid takes 18 to 24 months of waiting. If you select a site and build a new gigawatt-scale AI factory today, it will already be the 2030s before the first server can start running.

Friends who have been working on AI development recently should all have the same feeling: the cost of calling large models is genuinely getting more and more expensive. DeepSeek-V4 is about to raise its prices, and it has also introduced peak and off-peak pricing. Simply put, using the model during the daytime peak period will cost much more. Many developers have privately calculated that the cost of running a single complex reasoning task is sometimes higher than their daily expenses. Over the long term, their wallets really can’t take it.

Why are we “left-behind leeks” still searching for gold in barren soil? Isn’t it because the crypto space hasn’t seen any innovation for more than three years? The inscriptions from three years ago brought countless newcomers into crypto, all dreaming of getting rich overnight. In a crypto space devoid of innovation, all we “left-behind leeks” can do is say over and over, “I’ll never play Memes again,” only to turn around and look everywhere for an angle to shove the spare change we’ve painstakingly saved into, then start fantasizing about getting rich overnight…

LTC at $44—are you buying the dip?

Look at the surface first: range-bound, with retail investors cursing.

Over the past week, it has been bouncing between $43 and $46, with 24h volatility below 1%. It is down 42% YTD and 63% over one year, falling from three-digit highs to $44. Its market cap is $3.4 billion, ranked outside the top 20, and it cannot even match the hype of MEME coins. The Bollinger Bands have narrowed to an extreme, while the RSI is 43 and neutral-to-weak. A major move is imminent.

First: MWEB privacy adoption has hit a new all-time high, but nobody is talking about it.

More than 500k LTC has been pegged into MWEB, recently near its ATH, showing that real demand for privacy exists—users are actually using it, not trading on empty hype.

LTC is quietly becoming a practical network for “privacy payments,” rather than just an old dinosaur that can only process transfers. 500k LTC has been locked into the privacy pool, accounting for nearly 0.65% of the circulating supply, and this ratio is still rising.

Second: LitVM is coming, and LTC is set to evolve from “digital silver” into a smart-contract platform.

Lite Strategy has invested approximately $1 million, while testnet transaction volume has reached the tens of millions to hundreds of millions. The target is a mainnet launch in Q4 2026, with ZK-rollups, EVM compatibility, and DeFi/RWA potential.

LTC is about to support smart contracts, no longer just an “old dinosaur” that can only process transfers.

It will be compatible with the Ethereum ecosystem, allowing developers to migrate applications directly.

Privacy + smart contracts + low fees—the narrative is shifting from “payment coin” to “scalable Layer 1.”

Third: a signal has appeared on the technical chart that must be taken seriously.

The Bollinger Bands have narrowed to an extreme, with volatility compressed to near historic lows. Historically, every time LTC’s Bollinger Bands narrowed this much, a 20-30% move followed.

$39-$42 is a historical demand zone and the lower boundary of the long-term channel, and it has held multiple times. Around $44 is exactly the lower boundary of the range. The RSI is 43 and neutral-to-weak, while the MACD is close to a death cross—the bears are running out of strength, but the bulls have yet to step in.

The bulls and bears are facing off—you decide.

On one side:

MWEB privacy adoption is at an ATH, with 500k+ LTC locked into the privacy pool.

LitVM testnet transaction volume has surpassed 500k, with a mainnet launch expected in Q4.

The spot ETF is already live, opening the institutional access channel.

The number of large-holder wallets is rising, and whales are accumulating.

The Bollinger Bands have narrowed to an extreme, with a major move imminent.

On the other side:

Down 42% YTD and 63% over one year, with extreme medium- and long-term weakness.

ETF inflows are weak, with no explosive momentum.

Macro conditions remain tight, the Federal Reserve is standing pat, and liquidity is under pressure.

$46-$48 has been rejected multiple times, creating immense psychological pressure.

Key levels

Upside resistance: $45-$46 (recent high) → $48-$50 (important level) → $60

Downside support: $43-$44 (current) → $42 (strong support) → $39-$40 (iron floor)

Trading strategies

For short-term traders:

Open a small long position at $42.5-$43.5, with a stop-loss at $41 and targets of $45.5-$47. A short position can be taken around $46-$47.5, with a stop-loss above $48 and targets of $44-$43.

For swing traders:

Go long after a daily close above $46 with increased volume, targeting $50-$60, with a stop-loss below $44. If $42 breaks and the move is confirmed, target $40 or even $39 on the short side, with a stop-loss at $43.5-$44.

For long-term believers:

Dollar-cost average in batches at $40-$42. LTC is “digital silver,” with the triple narrative of the halving cycle + MWEB + LitVM. The 2027 target is $60-$80.

LTC’s current state looks remarkably similar to its six-month consolidation in 2023—

99% of people thought “the old coin was dead,” but then it surged from $40 to over $100 in 2024.

The day $46 breaks out, you will realize:

It was never that LTC was incapable—the problem was that you lost patience every time it consolidated.

What is your LTC cost basis?

The AI Stock Guru’s 16 Billion Cut-Loss Sell-Off! Ken Griffin Reduces Nvidia Holdings and Pours Money Into AMD—What’s His Strategy?

Reducing Holdings
1. Nvidia $NVDA
partially reduced call options and positions. The model detected signs of intensifying short-term valuation competition, locking in profits while controlling volatility risk.
2. Tesla $TSLA
moderately reduced call option exposure. With electric vehicle deliveries and autonomous driving deployment slowing, quantitative strategies proactively reduced leverage.
3. Gold ETFs $GLD
significantly reduced holdings. Safe-haven demand declined temporarily, while capital shifted toward technology growth stocks and AI-related assets.

Increasing Holdings
4. Advanced Micro Devices $AMD
significantly increased holdings. AI server and data center demand is surging, with better value than some competitors, and the model issued a strong buy signal.
5. Microsoft $MSFT
substantially increased holdings. Azure cloud and AI businesses continue to grow rapidly, with clear synergies between its productivity software and OpenAI, while long-term cash flow remains stable.
6. Amazon $AMZN
continued increasing holdings. AWS cloud computing and advertising businesses remain strong, while an e-commerce recovery combined with AI infrastructure investment provides substantial growth potential.
7. Micron $MU
Memory chip demand is surging due to AI servers, the storage cycle is turning upward, and quantitative factors indicate strong appeal.
8. SpaceX $SPCX
opened a new position worth approximately $876 million. Its Starlink space and launch businesses are leading the market, with enormous future commercialization potential.
9. Eli Lilly $LLY
significantly increased holdings. Its weight-loss and diabetes drug pipelines are booming, solidifying its position as a biotechnology leader.
10. Cerebras $CBRS
opened a new position. As a rising star in AI-specialized chip hardware, it stands out for its computing efficiency and is keeping pace with the cutting edge of technology.
