$6 UNI: Are you on board or under the wheels?
Look past the surface first: a barrage of bullish news, prices skyrocketing, and retail investors frantically chasing the rally.
It rose 38% over the past 7 days, doubling directly from around $3 at the August low. On September 2, it briefly broke above $6.30, hitting an eight-month high. 24-hour trading volume exceeded $1 billion, and market capitalization surged to $3.7 billion. All moving averages are below the price. It has risen too much and needs a breather.
First: Robinhood Chain is the real driver behind this surge
Robinhood Chain, launched in July, saw $17.99 billion in trading volume in August, up 26% from July. On September 1, daily trading volume reached $1.95 billion, of which $1.75 billion went through Uniswap pools—nearly every dollar on-chain generated fees for Uniswap.
Uniswap collected $9.24 million in fees on Robinhood Chain over 24 hours, accounting for the vast majority of the network's total fees.
Robinhood Chain now generates two-thirds of Uniswap's total revenue.
Uniswap used to earn fees from DeFi users. Now it is starting to earn RWA fees from Wall Street.
Second: The Fee Switch is turning UNI from a “voting token” into a “deflationary asset”
The UNIfication proposal passed in December 2025, officially activating protocol fees. In January 2026, 100 million UNI were burned at once, accounting for approximately 16% of the total supply. Burns have continued since then—more than $300,000 worth of UNI burned in ten days, at an annualized rate approaching $160 million. Standard Chartered estimates that, based on the burn rate in mid-August, the annualized burn amount is approximately equivalent to 4% of the circulating supply.
On July 27, 2026, the Fee Switch was officially activated on V4, with average daily revenue surging from $118,000 in early July to $318,000.
UNI now has a dual engine of cash flow and deflation.
Third: Technical indicators are overheated, but what are the whales doing?
The daily RSI is at 78-81, severely overbought. MACD momentum is weakening. The price is far above all moving averages.
Whales are aggressively selling—the selling pressure is 71%, while buying pressure is only 20%. Exchange inflows are rising, holdings have fallen 5.7%, and funds are flowing out.
The funding rate is -1%, and the long-short ratio is 0.56—shorts are paying longs, and the market is extremely bearish.
Resistance above: 6.20-6.37 → 7.00 → 7.81 (200-week EMA)
Support below: 5.84-5.78 → 5.54-5.59 → 4.62 (EMA20)
You decide who wins the bulls-versus-bears battle
On one side:
Robinhood Chain is bringing real RWA trading volume, and protocol revenue is surging
The Fee Switch continues to burn UNI, with an annualized burn rate of approximately 4% of the circulating supply
It has doubled from $3 to $6, and the trend is now established
Standard Chartered has set a $100 price target for 2030
On the other side:
Daily RSI at 78-81, severely overbought
Whales account for 71% of selling pressure, and funds are flowing out
At the September 15-16 FOMC meeting, the probability of a rate hike is 66%
If BTC pulls back, high-beta coins like UNI will bear the brunt
Short-term traders:
Don't chase the rally. Wait for a pullback to 5.84-5.78—ideally on declining volume with a hammer candlestick—before entering, with a stop-loss at 5.54. Take half off at the 6.32-6.50 target range, and if it breaks above 6.50, look for 7+.
Swing traders:
Wait for a daily close to hold above 6.0 before entering on the right side, with a stop-loss at 5.54 and a target of 7-8. If it breaks below 5.78, exit and wait on the sidelines; don't hold through it.
Long-term believers:
Accumulate in batches below 5.5. UNI's fundamentals have already changed—from a governance token into a deflationary asset plus a cash-flow-generating asset. The target for the end of 2026 is 10+, betting on the continued explosion of the RWA sector and the Fee Switch continuing to burn tokens.
Short sellers:
If you really want to short, wait for resistance above 6.50 before trying with a small position, with a stop-loss at 6.60.
UNI's logic now is already similar to that of BTC in 2023—
Going from “no one cares” to “everyone wants it” requires only one fundamental inflection point.
The Fee Switch is that inflection point.
UNI rose from 3 to 6, and you hesitated for a month. When it really holds above 10, will you still say, “If only I had known”?
What is your UNI cost basis?
At the 6-dollar level, are you willing to get on board?
