Seeing this rhythm, I knew I shouldn't go soft. So when it rebounded to around 1.0030, I opened a short position. My thinking at the time was very simple: a weak rebound is the best signal to go short.

Looking at it now, the current price has dropped to 0.7979, and my account

This $CHIP long has gone more smoothly than expected, with unrealized profit reaching a key level of +575.4%. I didn’t get greedy and took profit on 70% of the position around 0.06019, while moving the protection level for the remaining 30% above the entry price.

That small remaining position is just to give it a chance to keep performing, but I won’t give it room to swallow all the profits back. Chasing longs at this point is no longer offering a favorable risk-reward ratio, because the sharper the move up from 0.05377, the more likely a wick-driven shakeout becomes afterward.
