On Monday (August 17), spot gold opened at $4356.26 per ounce in the Asian morning session, about $20 below Friday’s close. After briefly dipping to around $4310, it quickly stabilized and rebounded, climbing to a high near $4396 and staging a textbook “opened lower and moved higher” move. As of 9:00 a.m. Beijing time, gold prices were fluctuating and consolidating in the $4370-$4380 range, up about 0.4% overall from Friday’s close and extending the strong pattern that followed last week’s V-shaped reversal.
