The market expects August nonfarm payrolls to add only 56k jobs, presenting an overall stable but weak picture.
Even if the data meets or falls below expectations, it would only indicate weakening employment and would not be enough to directly trigger a rate cut.

August nonfarm payroll data will be released tonight. The market expected an increase of 80k nonfarm jobs in August, but the actual figure showed a sharp decline of 20k jobs. However, the employment data released by companies this Wednesday only decreased by 8,000, with no sign of massive layoffs, although the cooling unemployment rate is a fact.
The market expects tonight’s nonfarm payrolls to increase by 56k. Personally, I expect tonight’s data will not be particularly strong and will provide short-term support for gold.
