Security Reminder: Protect Your Email and Account Assets from Compromise and Theft
Dear User,
Recently, cyberattacks and account takeover incidents targeting crypto asset users have continued to draw global attention. The latest security incidents show that attackers are increasingly targeting users’ email accounts, cloud accounts, authentication information, and third-party services. Through malicious phishing links and social engineering, they seek to gain control of the password information or authentication methods you trust to protect your account, then illegally transfer your assets.
Gate would like to remind you: The security of your exchange account does not depend solely on the exchange itself. Your linked email address and other associated accounts are also critical to protecting your assets.
I. Your Email May Be an Entry Point to Your Exchange Account
In some publicly disclosed industry cases, attackers first gained access to users’ email accounts. They then searched emails for exchange notifications, registration details, and security messages. They may also set up automatic email forwarding, archiving, or deletion rules to conceal suspicious activity.
Attackers may further use password reset emails, verification codes, or other authentication information to attempt to take over users’ exchange accounts. Once they gain control of an account, unauthorized logins, withdrawals, or asset transfers may occur.
According to monitoring by Gate and third-party security companies, attackers are continuously using compromised cloud services and third-party email services to launch large-scale phishing attacks, inducing users to further disclose passwords, verification codes, or wallet information.
II. Check and Strengthen Your Account Security Immediately
To reduce the risk of account asset theft, Gate recommends that you upgrade your account in accordance with the Gate Account Security Protection Plan.

If you notice unfamiliar logins, unusual withdrawals, unknown devices, or other suspicious activity, take immediate action to protect your account.

Final Reminder
Email security is a critical part of account security.
