For only the 2nd time in Bitcoin’s history, mining difficulty is lower year-over-year.
The first time was in 2021, after China banned Bitcoin mining.
This time, low bitcoin:native price, very low fees and lower Hashprice are hurting miners.
Less efficient miners are shutting down.
