With unlimited tokens, ChatGPT’s Dot is hitting the gas and the brakes at the same time, burning 2 billion tokens a day while getting absolutely nothing done.
I’ve given feedback countless times, but nothing has been fixed. All my tokens are being wasted on figuring out how to get the review model to approve Dot performing an action. It’s been the same thing over and over all day.

6,000,000 USDT is the maximum prize pool announced for Gate WCTC S9, but the biggest lesson in this competition is not the headline number. It is how traders choose to compete. There’s another major on-chain move, this time involving POL. Arkham just uncovered that a Polygon multisig address sent 52.928 million tokens to a staking contract, worth around $4.82 million at the current price. The key isn’t the amount, but the route—the multisig wallet went straight into the staking contract, not to a CEX or a market maker. To track the whale address activity mentioned earlier, click the tag below to monitor its holdings in real time. Polygon has been laying the groundwork for a cross-chain settlement layer lately, and zkEVM and CDK are also being iterated on. When a mult

That low of 0.0687 this morning was a classic “fear machine.” First, they slammed the price down to flush out yesterday’s leveraged buyers who chased the rally, while also giving technical traders an “M top” to scare them. Then what? Of the 22.2M in trading volume, at least 60% was concentrated in the 0.0687–0.072 range—that was all bloodied-up supply absorbed by the market maker itself. #SolanaNonVoteTxHits8.92B #WCTCS9 ‌Solana's record usage meets a $100 test: an event study of the Alpenglow week at SOL $101.43
The record transaction count and the Alpenglow upgrade both landed this week, and SOL still sits near $101.43, a few dollars above the round number everyone is watching.
I treated the week like an event study: what happened on each day, what the price did, and what the evidence says about the next move.
The record behind the hashtag
Solana reported 8.92 billion non-vote transactions for Q3 2026, up 104% from Q4 2025 and about 24% from Q2's 7.19 billion. Those numbers describe network activity, and the week's price action shows that activity and price do not always move together.
Day by day
October 21, upgrade day. Alpenglow took over on mainnet-beta, with transaction finality dropping from about 12.8 seconds to a target of 150 milliseconds. SOL rose about 2.7% to around $108.80 after 12 straight sessions of ETF outflows. Solana ETFs took in about $585,000 that day, ending a streak of outflows.
October 22, the reversal. SOL fell 5.2% the next day. The decline happened as the Nasdaq dropped 2.6% and chip stocks sold off, so the move cannot be pinned on the upgrade alone. One commentator summed it up with a pointed comparison: the network got 85 times faster and the token went down 2%.
October 23, consolidation. SOL traded near $103.97, with a market capitalization of $61.27 billion, ranking seventh, and 24-hour volume of $1.95 billion.
October 24, the test. SOL was down 1.53% at $101.34, with a 7-day decline of 1.80%. At $101.43, price is about 1.1% above the October 18 low of $100.32.
What Alpenglow did, and did not, prove
A block can now finalize in one round if validators holding 80% of stake back it, or in two rounds at 60%. The migration needed validators holding at least 82% of staked SOL to sign off, and validators running Firedancer and Frankendancer, about 15.8% of stake, had to switch temporarily to Agave-based software. One caveat matters for anyone quoting the speed: independent post-activation measurements of achieved finality were still pending, and realized performance will vary with network conditions. The 150 milliseconds is a design target until measured.
The ETF angle
Institutional demand has been the weak link. U.S. Solana ETFs recorded net outflows of $17 million between October 19 and 22, with inflows on only two days all month. That puts net outflows at $59.1 million in under three weeks. By my math, that is small against a $60 billion market cap, at about 0.1%, but the direction matters more than the size. Spot Solana funds are also the only ones that launched with staking enabled, so the flows are a read on how institutions value the yield plus the price.
The $100 line
SOL bounced off $100 twice in October, on the 15th and the 18th. That makes it the key support, and a close below the October 18 low would break it. The next supports are $98, where the 200-day EMA sits near $97.95, and, if the pattern below plays out, the $80 area.
The pattern risk
Technical analysis highlights a daily head-and-shoulders formation, where a sustained breakdown below $100 risks cascading stop-loss liquidations toward lower support zones near $80. A head-and-shoulders is a reversal pattern, and the neckline is the level that matters. By my math, $80 is about 21% below $101.43, so it is a worst-case reference and not a forecast.
Resistance map
The 50-day EMA near $107 is the pivot, and holding above it would turn old resistance into support. The 20-day and 50-day averages cluster near $110. Beyond that sit the monthly open near $118 and the September 25 close of $122. From $101.43, $107 is about 5.5% higher, $110 about 8.4% higher, $118 about 16.3% higher and $122 about 20.3% higher. SOL is also about 14% below its $118 October open by my arithmetic.
Risk and reward
A long near $101.43 with a stop under $100 risks roughly 1.4%. A target at $107 offers about 5.5%, close to 4 times the risk, and $110 offers about 8.4%, near 6 times. But the $100 level is crowded, and stops placed just below a well-known round number are often swept, so I would size small and use a closing basis.
A decision tree
If SOL closes above $107 on rising volume, the structure improves and $110 comes into play. If it chops between $100 and $107, the market is waiting for flows to turn. If it closes below $100, the head-and-shoulders risk becomes the main scenario, with $98 as the first stop on the way down.
What would change the picture
Several consecutive days of ETF inflows, a confirmed measurement of the finality gains and a calmer equity tape. A broader reset in tech, such as another sharp drop in the Nasdaq, would work the other way.
My take
The network is busy and faster, and the token is still waiting for buyers. I would let price prove it, keep size modest and treat a daily close below $100 as the signal to step aside.
Technology moves in milliseconds, but investors move in quarters. The gap between those two clocks is where this week's chart sits, and it will close only when usage turns into flows.
