With better technology such as genetic engineering, clean cheap abundant energy (solar), AI, robotic, recycling and preservation, the planet can sustain a population of a trillion people. And humanity can be a lot more given the nearly infinite space and

We are on a debt cycle that will cause the collapse of our current financial system. The process started with Nixon in 1971, when he left the gold standard, followed by the West exporting production to other countries.
The West (Canada, the US, and Western Europe) economic system will collapse due to high debt and lack of production.
The dollar will be replaced by a new currency backed by gold and industrial output. Maybe a future backed by gold version of the Chinese Yuan.
