AI is the biggest thing that happened right now on the planet. And the window of opportunity for Canada and Alberta to be part of the game is short. (Before AI moves to space), is about a decade.
If we don't need consultation to join the EU or start a trade war with Israel, then I see even less reason for endless debates on AI datacenters.
Regulations, yes.
Years long debate, no. We will miss the boat if we do.

Alberta already sits on cheap gas, cooling, land, and a government that actually wants the industry. The next export is not barrels thrould non-existing pipelines. It is intelligence.
The country that turns energy into intelligence and ships that intelligence out through “digital pipelines” becomes a great-power node.
The alternative is to treat compute as a lifestyle problem and become a digital colony.

Oil at $100. Iran war grinding on. Carney starts a new trade war over wine and cosmetics from Judea and Samaria.
Alberta produces the energy the world actually needs. Israel produces the AI, robotics, and space tech that will define the next decade. Ottawa would rather lecture both than learn from either. The future isn't net-zero sermons. It's cheap energy + physical AI + orbital infrastructure.
