Should Alberta become an Associated Province of Canada?
What does it mean making Canada an associated member of the EU?
if it means free trade, joining the Eurovision and collaboration on science and defence projects.... I'm in favor.
If it means giving Brassles control over regulations, immigration and foreign policy.... I'm against it.
(And it looks like Canada is following EU foreign policies, and I absolutely hate it.)
At the moment I can't say I'm for or against because I don't know what it means. But I lean to be against.

20 years ago this could be a scene from a science fiction movie.
Science Fiction is becoming a reality.
There are only two growing echo systems in the world, that will dominate the Solar system. The US and China.

Do you think we have already reached Longlivity Escape Velocity?
If not, when do you think we will? Is there a benchmark to tell us when we did?
Alberta...
Pools suggest Option 1 in the referendum (stay in Canada) is likely to win.
That means that if you want Alberta to stay in Canada, but have more negotiations powers with Ottawa, voting option 2 is a safe bet.
We are so worried about making AI safe that we are completely blind to a much bigger threat: Winning the safety race but losing the capabilities race.
I am 100% in favor of investing heavily in AI alignment and safety protocols. We need it. But here is the brutal reality: If the "good players" slow down out of caution, the "sinister players" won’t pause to cheer for our ethics. They will simply overtake us.
Moving slowly doesn't make the world safer—it just hands the steering wheel of the future to the people least qualified to drive it.
How do we balance rigorous safety without sacrificing
