The CPI data release at 8:30 tonight will determine the market’s direction, so those holding futures positions should beware of wicks. You can see that many public-chain tokens have started taking off recently: STRK has risen several-fold, while SOL, BERA, and SUI, which I have been bullish on all along, have also nearly doubled.

France proposes tax on Bitcoin-to-USDC swaps before investors cash out
France’s proposed crypto tax changes would make a move from Bitcoin or Ether into certain stablecoins a taxable disposal, even if the investor never withdraws cash.
The National Assembly’s Finance Committee adopted amendment I-CF1826 on Oct. 7, adding that proposed exception to a broader overhaul of how private crypto gains are calculated. The provision would apply to disposals and exchanges from Jan. 1, 2027 if enacted.

CME, Kalshi, and Polymarket are all currently pricing in about an 80% probability of “holding rates steady in October.”
September’s decision stayed at 50/50 right up until the final week.
The market’s current view is that October is basically already priced in, and BTC has been moving sideways in a narrow range since the end of September.
But a pause doesn’t mean the end. Another rate hike in December is still possible, and long-term U.S. Treasuries are once again at multi-decade highs.
