Robinhood on-chain gas fees have become significantly more expensive, so be extra careful with cost-sensitive interactions.
Comparing on-chain data from August 1 to September 1:
Base gas rose from 0.020 Gwei to 0.513 Gwei, increasing approximately 25-fold in one month.
A regular transfer also rose from about $0.001 to approximately $0.026.
Gas fees measured today:
A Pons Meme buy or sell: $0.5–0.6 per transaction
A Meme swap through an aggregator route: $0.9–1.2 per transaction

This round of short positions was not a spur-of-the-moment decision. The previous rebounds repeatedly reached the same area before reversing, so the selling pressure above is clearly there. Shorting requires this kind of clear dividing line, rather than explaining the reasons only after the price has fallen.
