In the world of Web3, I have experienced too much disappointment. The sign-up process is cumbersome, assets frequently drop to zero, and the project party often runs away with the funds. These experiences have made me sneer at the so-called "Decentralization." However, a project called Somnia has made me rethink my views on Web3.
When I imported an NFT that had long been forgotten into Somnia, I was surprised to find that it could be used directly on this new platform. At that moment, I realized that the value of digital assets could be reactivated. More importantly, we no longer need to repeatedly rebuild our digital identities, and the records accumulated in the past on the blockchain have finally been recognized and continued.
This experience has completely changed my attitude. Opening my wallet used to frustrate me, but now I feel excited when I enter Somnia. It has shown me that Web3 is not just a tool for harvesting profits, but an ecosystem that can truly provide value to users. Although I can't assert that it will definitely become the standard in the future, it has indeed reignited my confidence in Web3.
The reason I share this experience is that I know many people, like me, have a love-hate relationship with this industry. Somnia, although not perfect, represents a new direction worth exploring. It makes me feel like I am no longer a passive "leek", but a true participant who owns a digital identity and assets.
The road to the development of Web3 is still long, but at least I am no longer completely pessimistic. It is precisely because of innovative attempts like Somnia that we can look forward to a truly different future. This industry is still evolving, and projects like Somnia are reshaping our understanding and expectations of the digital world.
