How much is left after all costs are deducted from a $100 profit on a trade?

Suppose you complete a trade.

Your account shows a profit of $100.

You might think the trade was a success.

But if fees, slippage, funding rates, and other trading-related costs have not yet been deducted, that $100 may not be what you actually earned.

The final result of a trade is not the profit shown on paper, but the net profit after all related costs have been deducted.

We can break this down into four aspects.

1️⃣ Trading fees: Both opening and closing a position may incur fees

The landlord was furious on the spot!
A trendy young woman turned the house into a garbage dump.
Why might a trading edge disappear as more people use similar strategies?

Suppose you discover a trend-following strategy.

In the past, this strategy could enter early in a trend, exit before the market reversed, and generate decent returns.

But after a while, you notice:

The same signals lead to increasingly worse entry prices; stop-losses are triggered more easily; and trading opportunities that once covered costs leave less and less profit.

The strategy’s code hasn’t changed, so why have the results changed?

One possible reason is that market participants’ behavior has changed, and co

SanDisk $SNDK “Long-Slaughter Night”: How can those who went long at 1000 and got trapped get out? Whales are “legally dismantling” your position!

SanDisk is now at 837. You went long at 1000, and your unrealized loss is already over 16%.

I’ll tell you straight: this isn’t a normal pullback—it’s a targeted cleanup of long positions. The charts say it all: $15.14 million in liquidations over 24 hours, with only $5.17 million in short liquidations versus a staggering $9.96 million in long liquidations. Whale data is even more striking: 581 short whales are sitting on $46.67 million in unreali

A quick weekend chat
Another week has flown by, and it was yet another brutal week for the market. Countless traders were liquidated, and the losses, along with the hack and the midterm-election whipsaw, were staggering!
I couldn't livestream consistently this week because of the flu. I streamed for the last three days despite severe throat pain, but didn't enter any trades until last night, when I traded SNDK. I hit the first take-profit in less than ten minutes and have already exited at break-even!
My recent win rate has been average, with a few stop-losses. With good position sizing, a 10-

What Is Out-of-Sample Testing? Why Can’t You Repeatedly Use the Same Historical Data to Prove Your Strategy Works?

In cryptocurrency trading, some strategies perform exceptionally well in backtests but frequently fail once they enter the real market. One reason is that traders repeatedly use the same historical data to adjust parameters, eventually arriving at a set of trading rules that are very well suited to the past but may not be suited to the future.
To reduce this risk, it is important to understand a key concept: out-of-sample testing.
First, what is in-sample testing?

#每周来晒 #Gate股票畅聊季 The Generative Core: Decoding NVIDIA’s AI Infrastructure Hegemony

The computing architecture is undergoing a complete structural shift from general-purpose processing to accelerated computing. At the very center of this generational transformation stands NVIDIA (NVDA), functioning not merely as a component designer, but as the comprehensive full-stack ecosystem provider for global enterprise AI. Trading near the $186.68 zone, NVIDIA sits at the ultimate convergence point of institutional liquidity and macroeconomic interest.
While market skeptics frequently query the sustaina

Before opening a position, how do you decide whether a trade is worth taking?

When traders see the market start moving, their first reaction is often:

Is it too late to buy now?

But a more important question to ask first is:

If this trade goes as expected, how much can I gain? If it goes against me, how much could I lose?

Whether a trade is worth taking cannot be judged solely by whether the price is about to rise. You also need to assess the potential gain, possible loss, probability of success, and trading costs.

Let's look at a simple example.

Suppose you are considering a trade:

Does Renouncing Admin Privileges Always Make a Project Safer?

In Web3 projects, you may often see claims like these:

“Ownership Renounced.”

“The project team has renounced its admin privileges.”

“The contract has relinquished control, and no one can modify it anymore.”

These claims sound appealing because they seem to mean that the project team can no longer arbitrarily control the contract.

But there is a key question:

Renouncing one admin privilege does not mean all control over the contract has disappeared.

If you see an on-chain record showing that a privilege was renounced but do

Familiar face Maxine Waters just announced she is running for chair of the House Financial Services Committee, and Sean Casten is also vying for the position. The platforms they’ve put forward are both focused on attacking the Trump family’s crypto projects, calling for stricter investor protections, platform custody rules, and proof of reserves.
Honestly, watching these two compete to become crypto’s hardline watchdog is genuinely hilarious.
When Republicans pushed FIT21 before, Waters did everything she could to block it. Now that Democrats have regained the initiative, her first reaction is

U.S. stocks sold off sharply on Thursday, November 5 (UTC). The Nasdaq closed down around 5.5%, entering correction territory, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plunged roughly 12%, with chip stocks including $NVDA and $AMD posting steep losses. Beyond profit-taking, investors are growing concerned about the pace of AI data center construction, capital spending, and future returns on investment. The key question now is whether the AI sector’s lofty growth expectations need to be repriced. Where do you think the next opportunities will emerge: chip stocks, tech giants, or other sectors?
