On the first day of September, the thesis continues to play out.

ETH was likewise flagged for a short around 2480, touched 2484 before turning lower, and has now dipped to 2460.

When price surged, volume did not keep up and chasing was limited, making the breakout prone to failure. So I did not enter immediately; I waited for the candlestick to close back inside the range before shorting. Confirmation matters more than jumping in early.
After the failed breakout was confirmed, price returned inside the range, and the rebound failed to reclaim the breakout level. I entered short at a key rebound level, with the stop-loss above the range. There was one minor rebound while I held the position, but it did not hit the stop-loss, so I continued waiting for further downside.

The entry comes from waiting; good opportunities are never too late. Open shorts at the 79300 resistance above, while the 78800 support below has consistently remained unreached. The short position set up early yesterday morning has already captured a thousand-point move. Take profits bite by bite; there is no need to aim for a big move in a ranging market.
