Polymarket’s international site got hit yesterday.
It wasn’t a smart contract vulnerability.
A third-party performance monitoring script embedded on the site (DebugBear RUM) was poisoned, and users’ logged-in sessions were hijacked—their positions were sold and their coins transferred. Around $25–26 million worth of POL flowed into the attacker’s wallet on-chain.
The platform halted trading for about an hour, said it would make users whole, and reported the incident to UK law enforcement. The US site was unaffected.
