#质押Launchpool瓜分45万VLX Gate Launchpool Session 386 is here: Stake BTC, ETH, or VLX to share 4,545,460 ValueX (VLX), with an estimated maximum annualized return of 47.40%.
The numbers look enticing. But today I want to talk about something less enticing—three questions you need to think through first.
I. 47.40% is an annualized peak estimate, not what you’ll actually earn
Launchpool’s annualized return is an extrapolated figure. Here’s a classic industry comparison: a 7-day campaign advertises a 300% annualized return, but the actual return is only about 5.75%—because annualization simply multiplies the short-term return by 365 days.
Also, pool rewards are fixed. The more people participate, the smaller each person’s share, and the annualized return keeps getting diluted as the pool fills.
So the “maximum” in “up to 47.40%” refers only to the ideal peak on the first day, not a return you can keep earning.
II. A new token has no historical price anchor, and the denominator in the annualized return is an “assumed price”
The biggest difference with this campaign compared with established tokens: VLX is brand new, with no historical price, no liquidity depth, and no trading history
Final return = amount of VLX mined × actual price after listing × proportion you can sell
47.40% is calculated using a certain benchmark price, but the listing price will be determined by the market. Listing on two exchanges on the same day, with thin initial liquidity, could mean a strong opening—or an immediate sell-off. No matter how attractive the annualized return looks, it’s still just an “assumption.”
III. The three things to watch after listing will determine the outcome
For a new token, what determines whether this airdrop is worth it isn’t the APR, but what happens after listing:
1. Tokenomics: total supply, circulating ratio, and unlock schedule. The biggest threat to a new token has never been its narrative, but sell pressure from unlocks;
2. First-day price discovery and depth: listing on two exchanges on the same day means thin order books and high volatility at first. What matters is buying support, not the opening price;
3. Project fundamentals: Web3 carbon economics is a narrative that needs real-world validation. Look at actual business activity, not the white paper.
APR is the bait; price is the answer. The new token’s first test starts today—and until price discovery is complete, any “high annualized return” is just a figure on paper.
Will you stake in this campaign? Do you care more about the annualized return or the price after listing?
