During the day, I still thought gold was pretty steady
Then I checked at night and saw spot gold fall below 3900
It hit a low near 3891, down about 3%
Silver also broke below 50
Gold is already down more than 6% this month
Oil prices are high, with Brent a little above 100
WTI is also around 100
Plus, PCE came in strong
The odds of a rate hike in December are a little over 70%
Non-yielding gold suddenly looks very expensive
Safe-haven demand and rate hike expectations are pulling in opposite directions
