#PONSLaunchesCyclicalBuyback A Fee Machine That Beat Pump.fun and the Buyback Math Behind It

The most underappreciated story in crypto right now is not a memecoin it is a launchpad that has only existed since July 14, 2026, and is already generating fee revenue that rivals the category leaders. PONS, the launchpad on Robinhood Chain, is the clearest example this cycle of a token whose value is mechanically tied to real, measurable revenue rather than narrative alone.

The raw numbers are what make it compelling. Over the 30 days ending October 1, Pons processed $2.37 billion in volume on Robinhood Chain, while users paid $140.27 million in fees nearly three times the $46.41 million that Pump.fun collected over the same window. That is the striking inversion: a platform with a fraction of Pump.fun's history and mindshare is already out-earning it on fees. At its September peak, Pons took $5.95 million in a single day, briefly ranking fourth among all services tracked by DeFiLlama, and it overtook Pump.fun in daily revenue on September 2.

The "cyclical buyback" is what turns that revenue into token value. Roughly 80% of protocol fees are routed into buybacks and burns, and the platform keeps only about 17% as its own revenue an unusually token-friendly split. The 30-day data quantifies the loop: of $140 million in user fees, roughly $16.52 million flowed directly to holders through buyback and burn, while 29.34% of the PONS supply has already been burned. A fixed supply plus a shrinking float plus a fee engine that compounds on itself that is the reflexive design in action.

The institutional catalyst gave the narrative its stamp. On September 4, Uniswap Labs purchased a stake in the project, sending PONS up roughly 40% to an all-time high around $0.73–$0.75. A major DeFi player validating a launchpad's tokenomics is rare, and it concentrated attention on exactly the mechanics described above.

The honest caveat is the risk side. Daily revenue has cooled from the September peak to about $266,715 by October 1, while Pump.fun's rebounded to $1.57 million the fee crown is contestable, not permanent. And an on-chain analysis linked 53 Pons V2 launches to an $18.43 million rug-pull operation that exploited the platform's anti-sniping mechanics, a genuine vulnerability the team must address for the revenue story to hold.

The framework for PONS is simple: watch the fee trend, not the chart. Buyback-and-burn is only as strong as the revenue feeding it. As long as Robinhood Chain's retail on-ramp keeps filling the launchpad, the flywheel keeps turning and the moment fees stall is the moment the reflexive tokenomics start working in reverse.
