#GateIdleEarnAddsUSD1UpTo8.16AP

Your idle stablecoins do not necessarily have to sit unused.
Gate has now added USD1 to Gate Idle Funds, giving users another way to earn on eligible USD1 balances while keeping those funds available for trading.

Starting September 23, 2026, users holding USD1 in their Spot/Trading Account or Futures Account can activate Idle Funds and earn a current base annualized rate of 6.8%.

For users who meet Gate’s futures trading-volume requirement, a 1.2× APY bonus can raise the maximum annualized rate to 8.16% on eligible holdings.

But there is an important detail behind that headline.

The current 6.8% rate consists of 1.5% paid in USD1 and an additional 5.3% reward paid in WLFI. The actual annualized rate is dynamic and can change depending on the remaining monthly reward budget and the total amount of eligible USD1 held on the platform.

For the 1.2× bonus, users need at least 150,000 USD1 in futures trading volume over the previous 30 days. The bonus applies to up to 500,000 USD1 of eligible holdings, with amounts above that receiving the prevailing 6.8% rate.

Another part I find interesting is the flexibility.

Gate says Idle Funds uses a daily average snapshot of eligible USD1 balances. Users do not need to manually subscribe every day, and the rewards are automatically distributed to the Spot Account on a T+1 basis. Eligible USD1 remains in the trading account rather than being locked away, meaning users can continue using the funds for trading.

This is where the product becomes more interesting from a trader's perspective.

Instead of leaving stablecoin capital completely idle while waiting for the next setup, traders can potentially put eligible balances to work while keeping access to the capital.

And this is not just a Gate-side USD1 integration.

The campaign is jointly launched by Gate and World Liberty Financial (WLFI). WLFI describes USD1 as a dollar-backed stablecoin redeemable 1:1 for U.S. dollars, with backing including U.S. dollars and U.S. government money-market funds, and says it publishes monthly reserve reports.

There is also an important transition for existing USD1 users.

Gate says its previous USD1 holding-earn product will end soon, with the exact date to be announced separately. Users who want to continue earning on eligible USD1 holdings are directed toward Idle Funds.

So for me, the bigger story here isn't simply the 8.16% headline.

It is about improving capital efficiency.

A trader may have stablecoins sitting in an account because they are waiting for a BTC breakout, an ETH setup, a dip, or the next opportunity. If that capital can generate a variable yield while remaining available for trading, the opportunity cost of waiting can potentially be reduced.

Of course, the headline APY should be read carefully. 6.8% is the current base annualized rate and 8.16% is the maximum with the qualifying 1.2× bonus; neither should be treated as a permanently fixed rate. Gate explicitly says the actual rate and program rules can change.

For traders, that distinction matters.

The real question is not simply “What is the highest APY?”

It is:

How efficiently can I keep my stablecoin capital productive without sacrificing the liquidity I need for my next trade?

That is the part of Gate Idle Funds that catches my attention.
