⚡ Ethereum & Base Split on Account Abstraction

⚡ Ethereum & Base Are Going Separate Ways on Account Abstraction
Ethereum and Base developers have stopped working toward a single shared account-abstraction standard.
The two ecosystems were working around:
🔹 EIP-8141 — Ethereum's Frame Transactions
🔹 EIP-8130 — Base's account-abstraction proposal
Both are trying to make crypto wallets easier and more powerful.
The goal includes features such as:
📱 Passkey-based signing
⛽ Gas sponsorship
🔐 Flexible authentication
⚡ Easier transactions
But the two sides have different priorities.
Ethereum is emphasizing:
🔐 Security
🛡️ Censorship resistance
🔒 Privacy
While Base is putting greater emphasis on:
⚡ Scalability
🧩 Customization
📈 Fast product development
⚖️ Compliance
The problem is fragmentation.
If different chains use different native transaction standards, wallet developers may need to support multiple systems.
That could make development more complicated.
But there is also a potential upside:
Competition between different designs could ultimately lead to better wallet experiences if developers successfully solve the compatibility problem.
This is an important development because account abstraction could be one of the technologies that makes crypto much easier for mainstream users. @Gate_Square
