NVIDIA Analysis
NVIDIA ($NVDA) remains one of the most important companies in the global AI and semiconductor market. Based on the market close of Friday, September 4, 2026, NVDA finished at $230.40, gaining 0.87% on the day. The stock reached an intraday high of $234.75, while the after-hours price was around $229.50.
NVIDIA’s Recent Price Action
NVDA experienced seven consecutive losing sessions before its latest earnings report. The stock declined from approximately $225 on August 17 to $208.48 on August 24, as investors became concerned about extremely high AI spending, memory supply constraints, and a more hawkish Federal Reserve outlook following Jerome Powell’s Jackson Hole speech.
The situation changed dramatically after NVIDIA released earnings on August 26. Although the stock closed that day at $209.95, shares jumped approximately 4% after hours. On August 27, NVDA surged 8.6% to $227.92, marking its strongest single-day move during this period.
Profit-taking and renewed Fed concerns later pushed the stock back toward $217. However, from September 2 through September 4, NVDA recovered strongly to $230.40 and once again approached its previous May high.
Record Earnings and AI Demand
NVIDIA delivered another powerful quarterly performance, beating expectations for the 15th consecutive quarter.
Revenue reached approximately $96.2 billion, representing 18% growth from the previous quarter and 106% year-over-year growth. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.22, above expectations of around $2.10, while gross margin remained near 75%.
The strongest part of the business continues to be Data Center revenue. It reached approximately $89.0 billion, increasing 117% year over year.
NVIDIA also provided stronger-than-expected guidance. Q3 revenue is projected at approximately $108 billion, plus or minus 2%, compared with market expectations near $104 billion. Importantly, this guidance assumes zero revenue from China Data Center chips, highlighting the strength of demand elsewhere.
Supply Is Becoming the Main Constraint
One of the biggest takeaways is that NVIDIA may be facing a supply problem rather than a demand problem.
Management indicated that its forecasts suggest approximately 70% revenue growth for 2028, while customers are requesting capacity equivalent to around 140% growth. This enormous gap demonstrates how aggressively companies are investing in AI infrastructure.
Memory has become particularly important. NVIDIA’s supply commitments through 2032 reportedly increased from approximately $119 billion to $279 billion, largely because of increasing memory requirements.
New products are also entering production, including the Vera Rubin platform, Vera CPU, Spectrum 6 and Groq 3 LPX. Vera Rubin is already shipping to major cloud and AI infrastructure customers.
Impact Across the Semiconductor Market
NVIDIA’s results have implications far beyond NVDA itself. Following the earnings report, Nasdaq 100 futures gained around 1%, showing renewed confidence in AI-related capital spending.
Memory companies were among the major beneficiaries. SanDisk gained about 5.5%, Micron rose 2.8%, and SK Hynix increased around 2.2%.
The broader semiconductor sector has actually outperformed NVIDIA this year. NVDA is up approximately 16%, while the SOX semiconductor index has gained roughly 62%. Companies such as Micron, Marvell, TSMC and Broadcom could continue benefiting from sustained AI infrastructure investment.
Key Technical Levels
For traders and investors watching NVDA, $234–$237 is the most important immediate resistance zone because it contains the previous May high near $236.54.
A sustained close above $237 could open the way toward $245–$250.
Important support levels include:
• $227–$228: First support
• $224–$226: Secondary support
• $218–$221: Major support around the 20-day average
• $208–$210: Deeper support from the August decline
A move below approximately $217 could weaken the short-term bullish structure.
Final Outlook
NVIDIA’s fundamentals remain exceptionally strong, with record Data Center revenue, powerful earnings growth, expanding AI demand and an increasingly important role in global infrastructure.
However, investors should remember that NVDA remains highly sensitive to interest rates, Fed policy, AI spending expectations, semiconductor supply and memory prices.
The next major technical test is the $234–$237 resistance zone. A decisive breakout could strengthen the bullish case toward $245–$250, while rejection could send the stock back toward its support zones.
