#NVDA is back near the highs, but this is where the chart gets interesting.

The stock is no longer in the same post-earnings setup. The bigger question now is whether NVDA can turn the $230–$235 area into a launchpad, or whether this zone becomes another rejection point.

The latest verified session data shows NVDA at $230.36, up $1.91 (+0.84%), with 134.95M shares traded. The session ranged from $229.63 to $234.76.

The Structure First

NVDA's chart is still structurally bullish.

The stock has been making higher lows while holding well above its longer-term trend averages. Recent technical data places the 50-period average around $210.45 and the 200-period average around $219.44, leaving NVDA comfortably above both.

That matters because the current move isn't occurring from a damaged chart.

It is happening near the upper end of the broader range.

And that's exactly where confirmation matters more than prediction.

Current Market Snapshot

NVDA: $230.36
Latest session change: +0.84%
Session high: $234.76
Session low: $229.63
Volume: ~134.95M shares
52-week high: $236.54
52-week low: $164.07

Average daily volume is roughly 130–135M shares, so the latest session had meaningful participation rather than being a thin-volume move.

Why NVDA Still Has a Fundamental Bid

The latest earnings report gave the market a strong reason to continue pricing NVDA aggressively.

NVIDIA reported $96.2B in fiscal Q2 2027 revenue, up 18% sequentially, while management guided to approximately $108B revenue for Q3.

That guidance is important because the market isn't simply trading NVDA on historical earnings anymore.

Investors are pricing the continuation of the AI infrastructure cycle.

Jensen Huang has also continued arguing that demand for accelerated computing remains extremely strong, while recent developments around AI infrastructure are providing additional evidence that hyperscaler and AI-lab spending remains substantial.

Recent Price Action

The important area is $230–$235.

NVDA has spent considerable time consolidating below its previous highs before pushing higher again.

The stock reached a 52-week high of $236.54, so the market is now approaching a very obvious liquidity zone.

This creates two clean possibilities:

Breakout: buyers absorb supply around $235–$236 and establish price above the previous high.

Rejection: price repeatedly fails around $234–$237 and rotates back toward the lower part of the range.

I would not treat the first touch of $236 as a breakout.

I want to see acceptance above it.

Key Levels

Resistance

$234.50–$236.50 — immediate breakout zone
$240–$242 — first psychological expansion area
$250 — major psychological target
$260–$265 — next momentum extension

The $236.54 high is the most important near-term level because a clean break would put NVDA into price discovery above the recent range.

Support

$228–$230 — immediate support
$219–$222 — major structural support
$210–$214 — deeper trend support
$200–$205 — major breakdown area

The $219–$222 region is particularly important because it overlaps with the longer-term trend structure and the area where buyers previously defended price.

Volume & Momentum

Volume is healthy.

Approximately 135M shares changing hands is close to NVDA's normal daily activity, meaning the current structure isn't being created on insignificant participation.

But there is a distinction between healthy volume and breakout volume.

For a convincing move through $236.50, I would want to see volume expand materially while price closes above the level.

A quick intraday spike above $236 followed by a close back below it would be much less convincing.

The Catalyst Calendar Matters

NVIDIA is scheduled to participate in the Goldman Sachs technology conference on September 10, with a live financial presentation.

That gives the stock another near-term fundamental catalyst.

Any commentary around:

- AI accelerator demand
- Blackwell/Rubin deployment
- hyperscaler spending
- supply constraints
- China exposure
- data-center growth

could affect the next breakout attempt.

There is also broader evidence that AI infrastructure demand remains strong. Today, Reuters reported that Nvidia-backed Firmus reached a multi-year agreement with OpenAI for data-center capacity in Malaysia, another example of expanding AI infrastructure requirements.

Bullish Scenario

The clean bullish setup is simple:

NVDA closes above $236.50 with strong volume.

Then I want to see the old high turn into support.

If that happens, the structure shifts from range expansion → price discovery.

Potential upside levels:

TP1: $242

TP2: $250

TP3: $260–$265

A sustained move above $250 would be more important than simply touching it because it would demonstrate that buyers are willing to accept substantially higher prices.

Bearish Scenario

The bearish setup begins with rejection.

If NVDA repeatedly fails around $234–$237 and then loses $228, momentum starts to weaken.

A break below $219–$222 would be more significant.

That would suggest the breakout attempt failed and the stock is rotating back into its previous range.

Below $210 would be a much more serious structural warning.

At that point, I would stop treating the current setup as a simple bullish consolidation.

Trading Setup

I would avoid chasing NVDA directly into $236.

The cleaner setup is confirmation.

Aggressive breakout entry:
Wait for a strong close above $236.50, then look for the breakout level to hold on a retest.

Preferred pullback entry:
Look for a controlled retracement into approximately $228–$231, followed by a bullish reversal and renewed volume.

Invalidation:
A sustained move below $219–$222 would invalidate the short-term breakout thesis.

Risk / Reward

Using a hypothetical breakout entry around $237 with a structural stop near $220:

Risk ≈ $17/share

Potential targets:

$250 → ~0.76R

$260 → ~1.35R

$265 → ~1.65R

That isn't an exceptional R/R at the first target, which is why the better setup would be either a tighter confirmed retest or a deeper pullback entry.

What I'm Watching Now

I wouldn't overcomplicate NVDA.

There are three levels that matter most:

$236.50 — breakout

$228 — short-term support

$220 — structural support

Above $236.50 with volume, the market can enter a fresh momentum phase.

Between $228 and $236, I would consider it consolidation.

Below $220, the bullish structure needs to be reassessed.

Final Verdict

Bias: Bullish, but waiting for confirmation.

NVDA has the stronger combination of fundamental growth + elevated AI demand + bullish technical structure, and the latest earnings guidance continues to support the long-term story.

But the stock is sitting directly below its $236.54 52-week high.

That makes this a decision zone, not a blind-entry zone.

Above $236.50 with volume → bullish breakout toward $242 → $250 → $260+.

Rejection below $236 followed by loss of $228 → likely consolidation/pullback.

Break below $220 → short-term bullish structure becomes questionable.

For a trader, the cleanest opportunity is not predicting which side wins.

It's waiting for NVDA to show which side is actually taking control.
