In my opinion, the most striking point here isn't just Gate withdrawing funds, but the market starting to take risks again. According to DefiLlama's current CEX data, Gate's 7-day net inflow is approximately $198 million; this figure fluctuates throughout the day. Also, on August 26th, the 24-hour net inflow was over $194 million.
I interpret this as follows:
* Capital is returning to exchanges: This indicates that investors are starting to open positions again instead of waiting entirely in cash.
* It's more significant if volume and inflow increase together: Not only rising coin prices, but also an acceleration in spot/futures activity signals a strengthening risk appetite.
* But net inflow doesn't necessarily mean a definite rise. Money entering the exchange can be used for spot purchases, futures collateral, hedging, or short positions.
* Especially BTC/ETH movements, stablecoin inflows, open interest, and funding rates should be monitored together. If open interest becomes excessively inflated and funding becomes aggressive while the price is rising, the risk of a short-term correction also increases.
* Whether the strong inflow in Gate continues is, in my opinion, more important than a single-day figure. The defillama data also shows that these flows are quite dynamic.
My approach: At this stage, instead of chasing opportunities out of fear of missing out, I would look at whether capital is actually rotating into BTC/ETH and strong altcoins. Especially if money continues to flow into exchanges while BTC is rising, I would think that the demand behind this movement is healthier.
In short: The signal that "money is returning to the market" is positive; however, it is not yet necessary to conclude that "money is definitely going into long positions."
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Meme Coin Strategic Approach
To maintain portfolio balance when approaching these two categories, the following logic can be applied:
AI Technological advancements, Nvidia balance sheets, institutional partnerships Mid-to-High Semi-Basic Investment: They contain a real product and benefit.
Meme Coins Community power, social media trends, viral popularity Extremely High Aggressive Growth / Speculation: This is the area where liquidity circulates most rapidly.
Things to Consider When Managing a Spot Portfolio
When making spot purchases in these two categories, applying the following rules can prevent losses:
* Capital Allocation: Since AI projects generate more permanent value, allocating a larger portion (e.g., 60-70%) of your budget to AI projects and the more speculative portion (30-40%) to Meme coins can create a logical foundation.
* Gradual Purchase: Especially Meme coins can fall or rise by 30-40% in a single day. To avoid high costs, it's crucial to make partial purchases at support levels rather than buying all at once.
*Take Profit: It's important to avoid the "hold forever" fallacy in meme coins. For spot traders, the safest strategy is to withdraw the principal and leave only the profit once a specific profit target (e.g., 2x, 3x) is reached.
