#ETHBreaks2400
The first real test of the 2400 break is under way.
ETH cleared the level, extended toward the mid-2500s, and is now trading near 2,377 after a 1.5% pullback on the 4-hour. The short moving average has risen to 2,439, the 50-period sits at 2,105, and the Bollinger Bands remain expanded with the upper band near 2,523. RSI has cooled meaningfully to 61.98 after spending time in overbought territory. Volume is still elevated compared with the quiet summer range, though it has moderated on the recent red candles. MACD stays positive but the histogram is starting to contract.
This is classic post-breakout behavior. The market moved fast, forced adjustments, and is now checking whether the breakout level will be defended.
Bullish case: if price can stabilize above 2,350–2,380 and reclaim the short moving average at 2,439 with volume, the path toward 2,500 and the upper band remains open. The fact that the initial break of 2400 occurred with clear range expansion increases the probability that buyers will treat the zone as support rather than resistance.
Bearish case: a decisive move back below 2,350 would suggest the extension has run ahead of demand. In that scenario the chart would likely target the rising mid-range area near 2,230–2,250 where the lower Bollinger and previous consolidation sit. Momentum advances of this size often need more than one pullback before the next sustained leg.
I view the break of 2400 as legitimate. The cooling RSI and the first meaningful red candles are also legitimate. I prefer to see how price reacts when it actually retests the breakout area before adding risk. Holding above 2,380 keeps the constructive structure intact; losing it would force a more patient stance.
Did you trade the initial break of 2400, or are you waiting for this pullback to resolve before deciding?
