BTC +7%, ETH +18%: The Rally Is Real, But Is Your Strategy Ready?

Green candles feel exciting, but sharp rallies can also trigger two dangerous emotions: FOMO and greed.

After a vertical move, the market doesn’t simply go up forever. It breathes, consolidates, and often tests whether traders actually have a plan.

Instead of asking “Should I buy now?”, ask better questions.

1. Don’t Chase the Move

Chasing an +18% ETH move without a defined setup can expose you to poor risk/reward.

The trap: Buying directly into resistance because it feels like price will keep running.

The lesson: Missing the bottom doesn’t mean you need to catch the top.

Wait for a meaningful pullback toward a key support area, such as previous resistance turned support, an EMA zone, or a relevant Fibonacci retracement.

Patience is a trading strategy.

2. Define Your Levels Before Entering

A trade without an exit plan is speculation.

Before clicking Buy, define:

• Entry: Where is the confluence?
• Stop-Loss: At what price is your thesis invalidated?
• Take-Profit: Where will you secure profits?
• Position Size: How much are you actually willing to risk?

Never widen your stop simply because price moved against you. A small, controlled loss is far better than allowing one trade to become catastrophic.

Consider scaling out at major resistance and using a trailing stop for the remaining position if momentum continues.

3. BTC vs. ETH: Watch the Rotation

BTC is up roughly 7%, while ETH has moved around 18%.

That relative strength is worth watching.

Could it signal capital rotation toward Ethereum and higher-beta crypto assets? Perhaps—but one strong move alone isn’t confirmation of an altseason.

Look at ETH/BTC strength, volume, market structure, liquidity, and broader risk appetite before drawing conclusions.

The key question:

Are you holding BTC for relative stability, rotating into ETH for higher beta, or keeping capital in stablecoins while waiting for confirmation?

4. Review the Trade—Win or Lose

The best traders don’t only document winners.

Ask yourself:

• Did I enter according to my plan?
• Did I hesitate and miss the move?
• Did FOMO influence my entry?
• Did I exit too early?
• If I’m bearish, what evidence actually supports the short?

A good trading journal turns both wins and losses into data.
