Trump removes the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
Russian Satellite News Agency Washington, February 22nd - U.S. President Trump relieved General Charles Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, of his duties.
Trump wrote on his social platform 'Truth Social': 'I want to thank General Charles Brown for serving our country for more than 40 years, including serving as the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a gentleman, an outstanding leader, and I wish him and his family a bright future.'
Trump said he nominated Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan Ragsdale Kane to take over. The nomination now needs to be approved by the Senate.
Brown is the second African American to hold the top position in the U.S. military after Colin Powell.
