Bitcoin dominance is rising again
After reaching a bottom in December 2024 at around 54%, BTC dominance has surged beyond 57% in January 2025.
This reflects the 2020 cycle, where BTC dominance reached its lowest point in Nov '20 #GT Hits ATH ~60%#Gate.io Reserves Surpass $10 Billion , then rose to 69% in Jan '21 before starting to decline again.
In the last cycle, Bitcoin dominance peaked near 72%. Shortly after, BTC reached around $40K - more than 2x the previous cycle's ATH - but still far from the eventual $64K peak. Dominance began to decline as BTC prices surged, indicating a shift in risk appetite towards more risky assets.
