Abstract generation in progress

Foresight News reports that Pavel Durov, CEO of Telegram, stated that the number of paid users on Telegram has reached 10 million. Additionally, Telegram has removed the ‘People Nearby’ feature due to less than 0.1% of Telegram users using it and issues with bots and scammers. Telegram will introduce ‘Nearby Businesses’ to replace it, showcasing legitimate and verified merchants. These merchants will be able to seamlessly display product catalogs and accept payments. Furthermore, the uploading of new media to Telegraph (an independent blogging tool) is prohibited, as it seems to have been abused by anonymous actors. Although 99.999% of Telegram users are not involved in any criminal activities, the 0.001% engaging in illegal activities have tarnished the entire platform’s image, posing a risk to the interests of nearly a billion users.
