Ethena has just announced a strategic partnership with Ether.fi, introducing a new token called eUSDe. This is a liquidity restaking token (LRT) with a value tied to the US dollar. Users will be able to deposit USDe on the Ether.fi platform to receive eUSDe tokens.

Ether.fi, a leading DeFi platform with a total locked value of over 5.7 billion USD, will integrate eUSDe into its ecosystem. The eUSDe token aims to provide a less volatile collateral asset for restaking activities across multiple systems and protocols, thereby enhancing stability and utility within the entire restaking ecosystem.

In addition, the USDe pool of Ether.fi will allow the sending of various types of stablecoins, which can be converted into eUSDe LRT tokens. The goal of this integration is to enhance restaking efficiency by providing a stable and US dollar-denominated collateral asset.

Ethena applies a derivative trading strategy to maintain stability for its USDe stablecoin. By executing short positions in ETH or related derivatives, Ethena minimizes risks from collateral assets in ETH. Last month, Ethena Labs also expanded USDe trading capabilities on the Solana blockchain.
