Kazakhstan’s National Payment Corporation (NPC) Chairman, Binur Zhalenov, conducted the first transaction with the central bank digital currency (CBDC), known as the “digital tenge.” The digital currency is now officially launched on the retail market, with plans for further development and integration into plastic cards.
