#Gate60MillionUsers 60 Million Users: Gate Has Reached a New Scale

Gate has officially crossed the 60 million registered-user milestone, and the timing makes this achievement more interesting than a simple headline. As of September 2, 2026, Gate says its global registered user base has surpassed 60 million, reflecting the platform’s continued expansion across digital assets and broader financial markets.

But the more important story is what those 60 million users now have access to. Gate’s ecosystem has expanded far beyond traditional crypto trading, supporting 5,000+ digital assets and more than 12,800 stocks and ETF assets, while continuing to develop products across stocks, ETFs, wealth management, payments, wallets, Web3, RWA, foreign exchange, metals and commodities.

That diversification changes the meaning of user growth. The crypto market itself is becoming increasingly connected with traditional finance, and exchanges are evolving from simple trading venues into broader financial platforms. Gate’s current direction reflects that shift: users can increasingly move between digital assets and traditional-market products within one expanding ecosystem.

There is another number worth putting beside the 60 million milestone: $8.215 billion. Gate reported total platform reserves of $8.215 billion as of August 19, 2026, with an overall reserve coverage ratio of 127%, covering nearly 500 user assets. BTC showed an excess reserve ratio of 22.79%, while ETH showed 22.05%.

That does not mean user growth should be judged by numbers alone. A large community creates a bigger responsibility around security, transparency, liquidity, compliance and product reliability. As an exchange becomes larger, those foundations become increasingly important because millions of users are relying on the same infrastructure.

The global expansion story is also becoming broader. Gate says its development is increasingly focused on connecting digital assets with traditional financial markets, while regulatory registrations and licensing efforts continue across multiple jurisdictions. This combination of scale + product diversification + infrastructure + compliance is arguably more important than the 60 million figure by itself.

And then there is the community side.

Every registered account represents a different entry point into crypto. Some users arrived looking for Bitcoin. Others discovered altcoins, futures, Web3 or tokenized assets. Some may have started with a small transaction and gradually explored more of the ecosystem. The result is a community where 60 million people can have completely different reasons for being on the same platform.

That is why I see this milestone as a transition point rather than a finish line.

The next challenge is not simply reaching 70 million, 80 million or 100 million users. The real challenge is turning scale into long-term value: better infrastructure, stronger transparency, wider market access, useful products and an experience that can keep evolving as users become more sophisticated.

The financial landscape is changing quickly. Crypto is moving closer to stocks, commodities, payments, tokenization and other areas of finance. In that environment, an exchange with a large global community has an opportunity to become more than a place where people execute trades.

60 million users is the headline. The expanding financial ecosystem behind those users is the bigger story.

Gate has now reached a scale where its next phase will be measured not only by how many people join, but by how effectively it can connect those users with the next generation of digital and traditional financial markets.

From the first crypto trade to a diversified portfolio, the journey is becoming increasingly interconnected and 60 million users marks a major checkpoint in that evolution. @Gate_Square
