ME News, July 26 (UTC+8): Ethereum staking protocol Lido said on X that the stETH Rebase has been completed as expected and has also made up the ETH rewards that were omitted due to insufficient calculations, with the corresponding annual percentage rate (APR) at approximately 2.29%. It also completed updates to the protocol oracle and passed an audit; the new version will improve report processing speed and help more quickly identify the causes when similar issues occur in the future. Regarding the observed reward calculation anomaly, Lido said that contributors are still performing root-cause analysis. More investigation details will be published later on the official forum and social platforms. During the entire incident, users’ funds have never been at risk. At this stage, the preliminary assessment is that the issue may have stemmed from a special edge case: the rewards report omitted a validator that was in a pending deposit state, resulting in some staking rewards not being included in the calculation. Lido said a full event post-mortem report will be released within the next few days to further explain the cause of the problem, remediation measures, and subsequent improvement plans.
