After the World Cup ended, the biggest predicted market shock isn’t actually Polymarket or Kalshi—but Robinhood’s in-house compliant prediction market, Rothera.

- Open positions fell sharply from a peak of over $120 million during the World Cup to just under $5 million.
- Daily trading volume dropped more than 90% from over $100 million to under $10 million.
Rothera’s traffic comes almost entirely from routing through the Robinhood app; user behavior is highly event-driven, and once the matches end, everyone disperses.
Meanwhile, Robinhood’s recent Web3 focus is on infrastructure on-chain—betting on longer-term Web3 infrastructure.
