*France* became the first EU country to pass a nationwide ban.
*Kids under 15* will be blocked from social media starting *Sept 1, 2026.*
And France isn’t alone. This is now a global push:
Already Law:
- *Australia*: Under-16 ban in effect
- *Indonesia + Malaysia*: Started rolling out rules in 2026
- *Turkey + UAE*: Approved bans for younger users
*Coming Next:*
UK, Spain, Greece, Norway, Denmark, Slovenia, Poland are all drafting or considering similar laws.
*The pattern:*
Most set the age at *15 or 16*.
And the big shift: *burden is on platforms, not parents.*
Companies must do real age verification instead of just "enter your birthday".
