Apple plans a major upgrade to its Mac product line to meet the growing AI computing demand.
PANews July 22 news, citing Bloomberg, Apple plans to upgrade its entire Mac lineup, including iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, and Mac Studio, from this fall through next year to meet growing AI computing demands. The report said Apple will roll out an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by a new M6 chip, and update the iMac for the first time in two years. It will also release high-end 14/16-inch MacBook models using OLED touch screens and equipped with M5 Pro/M5 Max chips from late this year to early next year. The company is also developing new MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and an OLED iMac powered by an M7-series chip, and it is upgrading the MacBook Neo for the entry-level market with an A19 Pro chip and updated memory configurations. Currently, Mac mini and Mac Studio are in high demand for AI application scenarios; for some models, delivery lead times have been extended to three months, and tight supply is also affecting the release schedule of new models.
