#BTCBreaks66000
Bitcoin surged above $66,000 for the first time in over a month, driven by a strong rebound in spot ETF inflows and positive regulatory news from Washington. While this market movement breaks weeks of stagnation, analysts remain cautious due to low trading volume.
* Price Action: Regaining $66,000 after weeks below this level is technically significant, especially if Bitcoin closes multiple daily candlesticks above it. A breakout from a descending channel improves the short-term trend.
* Return of ETF Inflows: US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded their longest positive run since May, with net inflows exceeding $727 million in the last five trading days. Net inflows of $226.9 million were recorded in the last session alone. Consistent inflows tend to provide a stronger foundation than speculative futures buying.
* Regulatory developments: Progress in cryptocurrency legislation, such as the CLARITY Act, will likely be welcomed positively by markets, but investors should await the Senate's final action before pricing in a lasting impact.
* CLARITY Act Developments: News that the White House has reached a consensus on ethical guidelines regarding the CLARITY Act, which aims to provide a clear legal framework for the cryptocurrency market, has ignited the market. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the bill is "one yard line" (in the final stage) to become law before the Senate recess.
* Resistance: The $67,400-$68,000 region is a logical resistance area as it combines previous price rejection levels with potential profit-taking.
* Short squeeze: If approximately $523 million in short positions are clustered around current prices, staying above $66,000 could accelerate the upward movement through liquidations. However, squeezes are generally short-lived unless supported by real spot demand.
* Increased Risk Appetite: The strong recovery in AI-focused semiconductor (chip) stocks in the Asian market has boosted demand for risky assets in global markets.
* Market sentiment has risen from the "Fear" zone to "Neutral" (40) for the first time in a long time.
* Volume Concern: The decline in 24-hour trading volume is the most important warning sign. Breakouts with weak volume are more likely to fail, so investors will be watching to see if volume increases on any move towards $68,000.
The short-term trend has turned bullish constructively, but confirmation is still needed. A sustainable hold above $66,000 followed by a decisive breakout above $67,400-$68,000 with stronger volume would strengthen the likelihood of a continuation. If volume remains low and BTC falls below $66,000, the breakout could be a false move.
Current Price: $66,189 - $66,318 range. Attempting to hold above the psychological support of $66,000.
First Strong Resistance: $67,400 - $68,000.
A break above this critical supply wall could open the way to $70,000. Key Risk Factor:
Low Spot Volume. This suggests the rise is supported by existing risk appetite rather than new investor participation.
Whether the cryptocurrency market can maintain this momentum will become clear with the Federal Reserve (Fed) interest rate decision and the chairman's statements on July 28-29.
In other words, the trend is improving, but the market has not yet fully recovered from the low-liquidity summer environment.
