The Winklevoss brothers donated $10 million in Bitcoin to Donald Trump’s super PAC “MAGA.”
PANews July 22 news: According to CryptoSlate, documents from the Federal Election Commission show that on June 19, the Winklevoss brothers donated approximately $100.18 million in Bitcoin to the Trump-linked super PAC “MAGA Inc.” The donation took place 23 days after the CFTC announced that it joined Gemini’s application seeking to be excused from certain provisions of the 2025 ruling. The filing shows that the committee sold the donated Bitcoin through Gemini.
The CFTC previously said that, under the current enforcement standards, it would not file charges regarding the complaint against Gemini, and it also noted that Gemini itself was a victim of fraud and that there had been changes to federal digital asset policy. Both parties applied to the court to lift the permanent injunction, but the $5 million penalty already paid by Gemini will not be refunded.
