ME AI message, according to Beating monitoring, Xiaopeng Motors’ AI infrastructure department head Lu Siyuan is about to leave the company and is currently handing over his duties. His next stop is OpenAI, where he will participate in the development of embodied intelligence robots. Lu Siyuan is responsible for Xiaopeng’s entire AI infrastructure from model training to on-vehicle mass production, directly managing about 200 people. His work covers training frameworks, GPU clusters, an in-house chip compiler, model quantization optimization, and on-car deployment. This role is especially critical to Xiaopeng. Since Xiaopeng has taken an in-house chip route, it needs to build its own compiler and inference runtime system. As a suitable replacement has not yet been found, Lu Siyuan’s team is expected to be split into more than three independent teams. OpenAI’s official website is currently still recruiting robot software, simulation, and firmware engineers. The official says the robotics team is developing a general-purpose robot that can work in real-world environments, and is connecting models, hardware, and software. (Source: BlockBeats)
