This best-friend’s words made the woman explode after she got home, and she and her husband had a huge fight—because her friend’s comments completely broke her.

The story goes like this:
She said that after getting married, she had always been the one earning money to support the family, while her husband stayed home full-time to take care of the kids.

Every month, besides household expenses, she also had the pressure of loan repayments—such as the mortgage, car loan, and so on—so life had always been tight.

That day, her best friend came to chat with her.
The best friend laughed and said:
“Earning money is originally a man’s job.”
“The wedding cost over $400,000—everything was my husband satisfying me. He’s just a working-class guy; all that money is borrowed.”
“Anyway, he’ll repay those loans. I just need to take care of the kids, and nothing else is my concern.”
She also knew how things were at her friend’s home—that it was the woman supporting the family—but she still kept repeating, again and again:
“A woman should be taken care of by a man.”

After that day, when she got home,
the woman suddenly fell apart!
She felt like it was the first time she began to envy someone else’s marriage.
And the first time she realized:
Why can other people feel at ease being “a little woman,” while she’s been struggling to support the family nonstop?

She told her husband about all these grievances, but after hearing them, he didn’t feel good either.

She even mocked herself and said, “I always thought I married for love, but somehow I’ve ended up living like a joke in other people’s eyes.”

The two of them fought over it fiercely that same day.
The next day, although they made up,
that day, the woman realized that what people fear most may not be just hard days—but not being able to stop comparing their own marriage with other people’s.

Do you think what truly hurt her was the marriage itself, or that one sentence from someone else (her best friend)?
