Hanwha Group becomes the largest shareholder of Securitize with a 9.6% stake.

PANews July 21 news: According to Etoday, a U.S. SEC filing shows that Hanwha Group has obtained a 9.6% stake in Securitize, making it the company’s largest single shareholder. Hanwha holds a total of 15,689,509 shares of Securitize through affiliated companies and management funds, with a stake percentage exceeding Blockchain Capital’s 6.0% and co-founder Carlos Domingo’s 5.4%. Securitize is an RWA infrastructure company that supports the issuance and distribution of traditional assets such as securities and funds, and helps operate BlackRock’s tokenized fund BUIDL.

This year, Hanwha Group has cumulatively invested 655.8 billion KRW (about $473.6 million) in Xangle, Crithus, Digital Asset, and Dunamu to build a Web3.0 investment portfolio covering data, wallets, institutional networks, trading, custody, and tokenization. Hanwha Investment Securities said its investment in Securitize is not part of the group’s joint strategic plan, but rather a Pre-IPO financial investment. It added that it will review whether to sell when the disposal window opens, while retaining the possibility of using this stake for strategic purposes in the digital asset and RWA sectors.
