🐂 BitMine adds 7,430 Ethereum and repurchases its shares

Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) recorded one of the slowest weekly Ethereum purchase rates since it launched its strategy in June 2025, adding only 7,430 ETH (about $14 million), compared with prior purchases that reached more than 100 thousand coins in a single week.
The reason for the slowdown is the company’s shift of capital toward repurchasing its own shares rather than expanding its Ethereum holdings (CoinGape) (Crypto Briefing), as it repurchased about 5.5 million shares worth nearly $86 million under a share buyback program authorized at $4 billion.
With this addition, the company’s portfolio rises to about 5.78 million Ethereum (around 4.8% of the circulating supply), bringing it close to its stated goal of controlling 5% of the total Ethereum supply. The company also puts most of its holdings to work via the MAVAN verification network (Staking), with an expected annual return of roughly $247 million.
Bitmine remains the world’s largest institutional holder of Ethereum, and the second-largest digital asset treasury after the Bitcoin-focused firm Strategy.
