I’ve seen too many people in the market fall into complete despair, but this Shanghai-based insurance professional’s story always helps people rediscover the meaning of trading.

When he found me last year, he was already battered all over by the market. He initially entered with $250k (250kU) of principal. After repeated losses and frequent trades, his account was left with just 1,649U. At 3:00 a.m., he sent message after message—no complaints at all—only nervously asking me: “Teacher Qile, with so little left, do I still have a chance to turn things around?”

I only replied with the most core trading principle I have for him: steady your mindset, stay alive first. The market never lacks opportunities—random trading is the root cause of destroying capital.

The turning point came quickly. After three precise setups, his account’s fate was completely rewritten:

1. The first wave of short-term trade repair: at 31.958, a long-entry window opened. After taking the long in line with the trend, the market kept rallying, topping at 46.649. He successfully took profit. His account directly gained an additional 10kU, giving the man who was at the bottom again the confidence to keep going;

2. The second wave of the main surge: at 35.538, he laid another long. The move went one-way upward, shooting up to 63.530. His account funds jumped from a few thousand U to surpass 60kU;

3. The decisive battle to complete the comeback: the market sentiment overheated noticeably and the long momentum began to fade. I told him to open a short at 62.848. During the position, the price kept whipsawing. He wavered and asked multiple times whether he could exit, and I only emphasized that he must strictly follow the trading plan. Then a big bearish candle rapidly dumped the price, with the low reaching 33.218. This trade directly made him profit of 190kU.

In just a few rounds of setups, his account went from 1,649U all the way to 260kU.

There is no market fairy tale about making a fortune out of thin air. What carried him through the whole bottom-to-comeback path were the countless times he held out through panic and restrained impulsiveness.

What’s easiest in the crypto market is catching trading opportunities. What’s hardest is, when you’re trapped deep in the losing valley, still having the courage to start over. The market won’t favor opportunists who get lucky for a moment. But people who stick to trading discipline for the long run, and who have patience and clear thinking, will eventually wait for the chance that belongs to them. #ETH突破1900美元
